I saw a pic earlier of the rule set for MV and the order of setup and the way it was laid out would definitely slow things down significantly. I dont remember exactly but it was like

-the judge plugs everyones devices in
-player 1 presses start (must be player 1 only)
-judge navigates to the correct menu
-coin flip or RPS to determine who has first pick
-team 1 picks one character
-team 2 picks both characters
-team 1 picks last character
-team 1 picks one characters perks
-team 2 picks all perks
-team 1 picks remaining characters perks
-team 1 strikes a stage
-team 2 strikes a stage
-alternate until only one stage remains
-judge selects the stage and starts the match

after each round they have to do a bunch of that again if anyone wants to change perks or characters

then at the end the judge unplugs everyones devices
