Beyonce: the lyrics are offensive to some people in a way that I didnt intend, so Im changing them to not offend those people

Do the people being "victimized" actually care overall? Or is this one those things where certain *cough* people just like to try to prove they still have power over everyone else and can control them? Like the LatinX thing. If enough people with the condition actually care, Ill fix my face. But Im getting tired.

I have scoliosis and love scoliosis jokes and if someone made "crooked" or something a slur because my back is crooked, Id only then start associating those things. But before anyone did that, Id never think of it cause it's obvious no one is referring to my condition when they use the word. Granted it's more of a stretch.

Id just hate to see a world where people with depression who like humor as an escape can no longer make jokes bout their depression to get relief. And this seems going into that direction.

I guess just never seeing it used that way personally makes it seem like not a big deal. I'll don't even think I use it anymore now that I think about it. I use to all the time here. So, I think I lready X'd it out without paying much attention lol

Also, being gay isn't taboo here when compared to other countries. Sure, a lot of stuff still suck for the community because everything constantly gets pushback. But there's people who live in other countries that would kill to live somewhere that has millions and millions showing up to defend them everytime someone harasses them. Still saying it's "taboo" and writing it off is just failing to acknowledge everyone who worked so hard in making it not taboo. Now, if you say it's still not embraced by half the country, Id definitely agree. But don't say it like everyone's work towards making it accepted has meant nothing so far. We are WAAAAY more forward than where we were even 20 years ago.

And he literally says something like "That's what we said as kids, we didn't know better" after using the word. He said it so you'd feel the strength of that word right before stating how casually him and his friends use to use it. It's supposed to make you feel a type of way when you hear it. And to those who understand the song, understand the artistic end of why it was so important to use in a song preaching against it.

He wanted to seperate who can focus on the message of the song and who will be completely distracted by a word and completely miss what the song is about.

Did you ever care to actually try to take in any of that?
