The sad reality is that anything genuine people do will be mimicked and use disingenuously by people with ill intentions. So, it comes down to how you view people as a whole when you need to fill in the blanks with strangers. I try to be optimistic, but not foolish. Some like being more pessimistic because they get paranoid that being too optimistic will leave them open to being taken advantage of.
