I got it off the eShop, but my Switch didn't have enough memory to download it. So I had to stop by target to get a micro SD card.

It is now installed, and I am on the menu theme listening to the theme.
I imagine it will sit better over time, especially if I hear the theme throughout the game, but I think this is a place where XBC2 takes the crown. I'm of the mindset that XBC2 has the best soundtrack of the first two (never played X) so we'll see where things go from here. It gets better when it picks up in tempo, but then meanders too far away from a melody that sits with me to really feel too strong.

I'm excited! I want something a little less anime than 2 and I love these soundtracks so much that I'm sure I'm going to enjoy this.

I'm going to go pick up my physical copy in a few minutes! I appreciated X's soundtrack a lot more than 2's, actually (beyond NLA, which is... interesting, and experimental, but not for me) but I also haven't played through 2 at all.

Ill be honest, about 4 hours in and Im not really digging the soundtrack much yet. Still lots of time obviously, but not much has stood out up to this point.

Update: I was making tea and went I went to pour it, the handle broke, the teapot shattered, and my stomach and wrist are now lightly burnt.

Yeah, this first map is sort of standard music. Has a cool B section though.

I'm liking the standard battle music so far! More than XBC1 at least.

Menu theme is real cool too.

There are 4 of us soldiers and it takes effort for us to kill one bug.

Colony 9 sure downgraded.

First dip into new You Will Know Our Names and I think it will have to grow on me

This game just forced me to use bonus exp to level up once and I am IRATE

I've been encountering this issue where combo moves cause some slow-mo and throw me off of my timing for some auto-attack cancels and it's annoying me.

Finished this first Ouroboros section.

Speaking of predictable, as soon as I saw and heard Vandham's voice for the first time, I was like "Oh hey it's Vandham. I bet he'll die at some point." Then his name was Vandham. Then he died.

What is Riku's role? What does this Nopon do?

I'm finding myself very lore-curious at the moment. Some cool stuff.

I took notice early on that the Kevesi guys were more XBC1 based - Homs, High Entia, and Machina among the three leads. And then the Agnians are Gormotti, Blade (Sena got that Brighid hair), and uh... I guess XBC2 human? Taion doesn't seem Urayan, at least.

But then the battle systems recharge arts according to the corresponding game as well! That's so cool!

I got to the Gaur Plain moment.

I haven't played too much (did some other stuff while letting the game sit and listen to the track).

The place doesn't look as amazing at first view, but the clear Bionis Leg pieces are really neat.

I LIKE that the track doesn't feel like a direct copy off of Gaur Plain (like Gormott feels), but it lacks a little bit of the melody and strong rhythm I'd expect.

Finished chapter 2. Got a feeling these queens are some familiar folks.

Still haven't quite figured out I feel about the Interlinks.

I'm starting to like the You Will Know Our Names a bit more. I've done every unique monster (that's sensible) so far, so I've gotten into it. I don't like chain attacks interrupting the music though, although it's not as bad as in XBC1.

Interesting seeing the variations on Blade people in Agnus too. Not sure about the Consul designs.

There's been good tracks but I don't know which have sat with me too much so far. Probably the main battle theme.

Ribbi Flats Day earning the early award for track that catches me immediately. Nice. Reminds me a bit of Uraya from XBC2 in how quickly it swept me in. But whereas Uraya had flavors of Joe Hisaishi, this one does not so much.

Been out for awhile, but just hit Urayan tunnels. Now this is some of the jamming music I came to expect from lategame XBC games, but the location choice for it is interesting. I guess that's what we get for having tunnels
