3 billets on one day??? Christmas must've come early.

I got two myself this week, but action's probably right. Haven't seen one for at least a month prior to yesterday.

Mona's quest seems a lot better-designed than the others, though I guess that isn't saying much.

y'all can hate on Xinyan all you want, but after finishing her portion of National Lampoon's Genshin Vacation, I was a lot more satisfied than I was with Kazuha's. Kaz's felt like it dragged too much, and it's not because of some "dislike" for the character (that I don't actually have lol).

Kazuha's domain dragged on and on and on so much it really was annoying.

I hate how they completely ruined Golden Apple Archipelago, v1 was infinitely better

Just finished Fischl's. Would've enjoyed it more but christ those fucking puzzles. Especially that one with the three floating blocks. You put the one in the middle of the big one. So you'd assume you would put the little one the same way. I was there for like 10 minutes wondering why it wasn't working. Nope you put it on the outside for some reason.

Those raven statue stage plays made me die inside. I cannot BELIEVE they had the audacity to drag that shit on THAT LONG.

Fischls puzzle was way too fucking sensitive to position them in the correct spot.

like Christ, the movement is too janky to begin with. It doesnt need to be exact fit.

Randomly picked this game up again after dropping it late 2020/early 2021. No idea what my pity rate is for limited banners lol

Been having a lot of fun exploring, I can go to Inazuma but I've been doing the summer event since I understand these are limited for some dumb reason.

From a gameplay standpoint, I totally agree.
From a cast standpoint, I'll take Kaz, Xinyan, Mona and Fischl over Klee, Barbruh and Jean in bad bathing suits any day of the week.

I dunno, I was hoping for Albedo / Kaeya / Diluc again. Those three are like the trifecta of "people who can't tolerate each other but have no choice but to work together"

I forgot about the Kaeya/Diluc shtick, that was at least mildly amusing. It did not, however, make up for Klee and Barbruh.

I know some people find Klee adorable and charming. I find her fucking annoying. ;)

The fact that Albedo literally intentionally abandoned Diluc and Kaeya together on a deserted island cracks me up so much.

Plus they imply that Razor jumped off because he couldn't stand their bickering, using the Kenki as an excuse.

I'll have to disagree here too.
Klee and Alice alone made the event a lot better.

Mona and Fischl are fun, but they drag scenes into infinity and it doesn't help that Kazuha and Xinyan are insanely boring

Personally I like the Mondstadt crew better than the group we had this time. I also find Klee annoying and Albedo's voice acting to be boring, but seeing them interact with each other makes me like both of them more. The Diluc and Kaeya bickering, plus Razor getting fed up with them, was lots of fun. I am also a total Stan for Jean who enjoys seeing her relationship with Barbara.

I did like the character stuff this time around, though, just not as much. And I liked the puzzles and domains better than the first time. I'm glad that they're trying new and different things even if all of them don't work. And dammit, I legitimately enjoyed the raven statue puzzles. I just love logic puzzles like that. Trying to listen and figure out the answer was fun (although I admit it would have been better if they gave us a way to skip to the end on repeat attempts).

Also last year, that first day when everything was dark and we had to follow the lights was a real slog, I think all four of the character quests were better than that by a country mile.

So overall, I think I like this year just a little bit better. But they're different enough that I can't say for sure.

Ok I give up. I made it to the 4 and I assume final door in the Mona event but these astrology puzzles are giving me a headache.

Im just gonna look them up tomorrow.

I ended up starting a few days ago, just noticed this topic. I don't have much to add other than it's been entertaining at least, for now. I watched a few tutorial videos to kind of get started though the game does well at explaining the systems to n00bs. Seems like every review points out this is a good game and as long as you avoid the predatory systems in the game geared to get you to open your wallet.

even then, it can be generous coz you have a 100% guarantee on any limited banner, which rolls over forever into future banners until you hit it AND also a 50% chance at halfway point, has a secret 73+ roll soft pity (chance to hit 5* chars greatly increases, making it unlikely you'll ever reach 90)

Just be careful and don't trust tierlist sites like genshin.gg, they're very situational and usually geared for newbies only, filled with short-sighted bad advices.

Next year let it be Itto, Eula, and Shenhe. Everyone takes everything literally because everyone either has no social skills or no communication skills. Throw Fischl in again just to make Itto's brain melt.

Oh God, please no Heizou. I love the dude's gameplay, but if they put him in an event like this, Mr Detective would turn the event into one giant puzzle and I'd have to quit entirely. lol

The question is - do I go for Kazuha C3, Klee C1, or wait for Yoimiya (who I don't have).

I'd say skip all three and wait to see who the first five-star is in Dendroville.

That's probably the best idea, imo.

Done with the story part of the whole event. It was such a damn awful experience that I'm not sure if I'll even bother exploring and doing quests in Golden Apple v2 anymore.

Xinyan and Fischl parts were simply awful
Kazuha was good but it was a fucking recap or Inazuma, I didn't need that.
Mona dungeon was kinda confusing and had annoying puzzles, but her character story was legit good. made me actually like Mona as a person

Actually the problem wasn't that they half-assed it, it's that they double-assed it. Everything is so senselessly complex and elaborate for no good reason. And the amount of obscure puzzle solving and secrets is just irritating.

There is such a thing as "overstaying one's welcome" in gaming. When something goes on too long and you just want it to end.

Is it odd that after 18 months I still only have five characters at C6? Only ones I have are Diona, Bennett, Ningguang, Noelle and Sucrose. And I only just got Ning to c6 a week or so ago. Barbara and Xiangling have been sitting at C5 for months now.

4* are always about luck, plus how often they are paired with any 5* you want. I didn't even have Thoma last week but now he's c6. Heizou is stuck at c1 still...

Yeah it depends your rolling strategy as well as luck. I'm a launch player and have 11 (Noelle, Yanfei, Fischl, Chong, Thoma, Diona, Sucrose, Beidou, Barbara, XL, XQ, XY). And most of them got that way by me hoarding fates for specific banners featuring them and buying shop cons.

I think my rolling "strategy" consists of "does this character look fun to play" at this point. lol

At Lv. 90 the meta is so easy that honestly it doesn't matter anymore.

Ironically, the strongest teams in the game (that aren't C6 5-stars at least) are almost entirely 4-star characters from launch (Xingqiu / Sucrose / Xiangling / Bennett) etc.

My theory is that the "meta" is balanced for Lv 80 teams of 5-stars. So at Lv 90 literally everyone can obliterate the Abyss.

Right, but you have to remember that I don't have any limited five-stars above C0 and my only five-star weapons are an Amos Bow and a PJWS with no real five star DPS character to use it, both at R1. I'm sure that I could still 36-star Abyss if I could be assed to do it, but my account is never, ever going to reach the heights of power yours has. And that's not a bad thing lol

For what it's worth, my strongest team comp by FAR is Tartaglia / Sucrose (Or Kazuha) / Xiangling / Bennett... and Tartaglia is the most C0-friendly 5-star in the game. With some of the lowest investment imaginable, Childe Vape's damage output is frankly unreal.

Maybe, if I can ever manage to pull more than the one copy of Rust I currently own. Pulling on the weapon banner is right out.

So I hit level adventure level 9 and finished all the quests available.. should this n00b just run around the world looking for chests hoping for adventure xp?

The next quest requires level 10. I don't have a tab for bosses yet.

What characters are you trying to level? Boss killing and leylines will give you some adventure XP, but they also use up your resin.

That said, if you're trying to rush to AR32 for the event, you still have a month to do it. I'd advise you to do Mona's side quest as soon as it becomes available because it's apparently required for access.

Are you doing the commissions every day? Those give primos, exp, and keys to unlock more story quests so they're good to do.
