Daniel Kaluuya is a great actor, IMO, but he performed pretty poorly in the first Black Panther (same with Forrest Whitaker).

I'm not even sure which characters to even look forward to seeing in this movie. Danai Gurira's and Lupita Nyongo's characters I guess. And the titular Black Panther character is probably not going to be in the movie until the very last act. Just seems like a movie that should have been scrapped after Boseman's death.

Problem is the artist isn't that good at her art to begin with. Even if you ignore the antivax stuff she really does not seem like shes capable of being the lead of a film.

It really should have been Nakia or M'Baku gaining the mantle since their actors are much more capable of leading a film.

I feel like this was an issue with phase 4 stuff in general, but fair, it is a negative headline BP2 received.

I don't like what I'm hearing, especially since I wasn't fond of Shuri in the first one even before her actress came forth with her antivax shit

I think it had even worse delays than the other movies. Wasn't there a point where Wright left the country and couldn't get back in because of the vaccine requirements?

Might just be me but WHY does there need to be a BP2? If it's just to introduce Dr Doom surely that could be done in the end credits of another movie. I don't see what those leaked plot points do to move along phase 4.

Damn, seems like history is repeating itself. I remember people on this board was saying the same thing about BP1. "This movie will suck" "It's dead on arrival" "Do we really need a BP movie?" (Addy was mainly saying that one) And look what happened, the first one broke records.

Seems like some people don't want it to do good.

"A million things jammed into one movie"? Riri is an integral supporting character for the A-plot of the movie and Namor is the movie's main antagonist. Doom is an after-credits scene that will be like a minute long. I don't see how you feel like the movie is trying to do too much.

There's literally zero good way they could introduce Namor and the Atlanteans/Atlantis at this point in a solo movie. It's already ridiculous enough we're going to get another "Oh yeah these guys have been here the entire time and just chose not to get involved versus Thanos" as it is.

At least this way the MCU is sticking with something that's historically been in the comics for a long time (Atlantis vs Wakanda).

zero chance they would ever consider this for anything more than a couple minutes for an on-screen death. and even that would be extremely poor judgment on their part.

Wright wasn't actually anti-vax iirc. She was just vaccine skeptical and posted some dumb-ass video.

The rest were rumors about her on the set of the movie that people later denied happened.

Being vaccine skeptical isnt even that crazy especially when you look at history and how much was done to minorities in the name of "science". I believe that to be on the set you had to be vaccinated so shes still in the movie.

That being said im not too excited for that plot.

Who's Namor?

He is the MCUs aquaman but he is NOT a hero at all, he is a major asshole and most of the MCU heroes do not like him and his xenophobic people.

Wakanda was isolationist but did have relations with the other tribes like MBakus people among others and formed connections with the outside world, Namor hates anyone not of the Atlantic sea race and is happy to kill anyone who he deems in his territory.

CE is hardly indicative of actual opinions of typical fans.

Movie actually sounds pretty decent and is a decent workaround for the passing of Chadwick.

I dont really care what the fake paragons of CE have to say on peoples character. Lets see what she can do.

you have a world with no superheroes or superpowers, a regular ass world. Then Ironman appears, a smart dude who makes a suit. Then we learn about all of these other heroes - Thor, hulk, cap (who was unfrozen), and all of them. Ok seems legit.

but these assholes keep popping up. Now we are supposed to believe that the fantastic 4 and the xmen and dr doom were just fucking chilling all the time while 10+ years worth of movies were going on?

Well with the Fantastic 4 you can easily explain that they didn't get their powers until whenever their movie occurs but they've existed the entire time. Dr Doom you can sort of do in the same way in the sense of he's always been a rich asshole that's been around and is funding whatever trip/experiment leads to the F4 getting their powers, and is quite possibly with them (think like a Jeff Bezos-style character, including going on a space flight).

Dunno what their plans with the X-Men are.

I think the real question is if they're actually going to have John Krasinki stick as playing Reed Richards, because based on what we're told in Multiverse of Madness he *should be*, but on the other hand we have No Way Home with 3 different Peter Parkers.

Seeing Killmonger in the Ancestral Plane is great. It gives him a chance to reprise his character, and he gets a little bit of post mortem redemption without it being undeserved. And it actually leaves things open for T'Challa to return if they ever recast him. He could secretly be still alive.

Yes? It's really not that unbelievable.

The Atlanteans and Latverians are highly isolationist.

For the FF there's multiple ways to run it - they don't get their powers until their movie, or maybe they were active in the 60s and their expedition that gives them their powers is to the quantum realm instead of space and they don't come back until modern day, and this is just me spitballing ideas.

The X-Men can be as simple as mutants always existing but in very small numbers, and the two snaps done on Earth end up triggering a ton of x-gene activations, leading to Xavier going public. Could even have his school already established with a small team that he's been building since shit started popping off, using his telepathy to keep it hidden.

That's just trying to keep it in one universe too and not getting into multiversal traveler shenangans.

Take with a grain of salt obviously but that's some fantastic casting for both Drac and Wonder Man if legit.

I don't particularly care about the Elektra recasting myself; I liked Elodie Yung in the role but it's not quite as big a deal as if they'd replaced Cox.

Black Bolt being in The Marvels is interesting seeing how Ms Marvel ended up going, but it does give me hope that Kamala will be stated to be an Inhuman by the end of it.
