I feel like every time you looked at it, you'd panic about one of your devices having had its casing contorted due to overheating, until you realized that you had put your Sony Playstation 5 there and that it is supposed to look like that. Is it possible to remove one of the inner shelves of the television stand in order to place your PlayStation 5 there, orienting it normal with respect to the ground?

Hmm I would find a way to give it more breathing room on the sides, and maybe on the top, PS5 runs HOT and it needs good airflow. Like mine just sits on a table all its own, feet away from anything else.

If I were to put it vertical I feel at the side of my unit would be more sufficient. The window will be above it and keep it cool.

Space is limited I'm afraid to do that but it does seem compact with my current setup.

Also if you hear loud popping sounds after you turn it off, thats normal. Thats the plastic shell expanding and contracting with the heat, its supposed to do that.

Hmmm. It seems at least 4" all around is best for PS5. A setup change is needed it seems. Fuck!

Seems fine. The air intake is in the front so there is plenty of air for it to draw from. There is enough clearance in the back for the exhaust, so I don't see any problem with this setup. Honestly my computer setup is far worse, since I have the intake right on the carpet & the exhaust is partially blocked by my computer desk & I haven't had any issues for years. The air circulation on your PS5 is way better.

It is an improvement over the last, but the fact that it's outside the case now makes the whole setup seem incongruent. I imagine that ventilation is much improved over what it was in the previous setup. I worry, though, about the hole that the PS5 is standing nearby. If it were my flat, I'd worry about the possibility of insects crawling up through it.

If I'm not mistaken, the intake is the front grills and it exhausts out the back and your original setup seemed fine (since it looks like your stand isn't directly against a wall).

Mine is inside a closed TV cabinet. It's been like that for the past year or so and I've never had a single problem. No need to be paranoid. Set it up however you'd like,...you'll be fine.

It looks almost the same size as my mid-tower PC.

Which is considered twice the size of most modern high-end PCs.

This could be a possibility rather than on the floor. I just find things next to my TV distracting. That's why my Switch is behind my TV.

how much heat does your tv give off? might be a bad idea having your switch behind it, especially if it's close

Not much that I've noticed. Plenty of space around the back and it's near a window too. Should be fine.
