Had original strain in December of 2020. Health hasn't been the same since and now I just ponder if my life expectancy is now like age 40 instead of say 75.

COVID basically burned a hole through my brain.

Yeah, I already had asthma before getting it early 2020, but my lungs are even more fucked now and I get winded super easily. It also gave me some digestive system issues and what I think is called brain fog. Can't imagine this helped my life expectancy in any way.

If something comes up in the future related to it, then that's just how it'll be. I worry here and there but seeing as I was as careful as I could be and I seem to have bounced back fine, there's not much to do about it.

I had it around Christmas after receiving two doses of the vaccine. While infected I had very noticeable brain fog and confusion, and after recovery I now get out of breath easily and have a hard time catching it again. It's been seven months and at this point I'm pretty sure it's going to be a lifelong thing.

The fear of long covid has been my primary motivator since shortly after the pandemic began. Lung damage, brain fog, erectile dysfunction, and permanent changes to your taste / smell all happen to be things that scare the shit out of me.

I just got it and am dealing with the brain fog. The worst part is that I was already dealing with brain fog naturally.

I did notice that socializing for the first time has pulled me back into tye right direction a lil tho. Im hoping I can pull myself out through being social. The good part of having brain fog before this is that I had already socially settled into being a dumbass and became ok with just playing my role as the nice funny guy that constantly brain farts. So, if I go dumb mid conversation, I can immediately accept it and just keep going with only slight anxiety. Constantly worrying about your own intelligence was a losing battle

I have a similar experience, but with FFX-2.

There's this memorization minigame where button inputs appear on screen and you have to remember and press them in the right order under a quick time limit, kinda like how Bop It works, but I just can't do it. Trying to remember the sequence all in under a second or two is just impossible for me now.

Not to mention the timed coin minigame later on that involves multiplication, which is super beyond what my brain can handle fast enough.

You guys might not want to completely stop. You can retrain your brain. Stopping would just exacerbate it, wouldn't it?

I was having it real bad, so I played some solitaire and then went out and socialized and immediately felt a lil better

if there was shareplay i would help you out with that. but not that coin minigame that was hard enough.

We have a guy here, Aldous I think that had permanent erectile dysfunction due to COVID. I think it's important that people learn about this stuff, and think more about the long term on top of everything else.

Fortunately, I haven't had any problems since having it January.

No offense to anyone in this topic (seriously, I don't blame you for this), but our government / the CDC dropped the ball hard by not hammering home the risks of Long Covid as soon as they came to light; it boggles my mind that we still have so many people who aren't aware of the risks of erectile dysfunction, permanent lung damage, brain fog, etc.

Any time I see them self-flagellate over their poor 'messaging' regarding Covid, well...yeah, they deserve it and then some, because they fucked up big-time.

I know people who said things like "I hope to catch it and get it over with soon". "I'll have antibodies and be fine" etc

People refused to take it seriously. I have no idea if I've had it but hope not

I had it a few weeks ago, and my running took a massive hit afterward. I seem to be recovering, but still not 100%. I still ran 5.5 miles this morning but I needed two very short walking breaks, which I didn't before.

Luckily, no erectile dysfunction issues. Pretty sure my gf would leave me!
