An example of toxic femininity, then, would be women having kids when even though they hate children. This often results in the children being treated poorly out of resentment. However, this example is also rooted in misogyny and obstructions to contraception, abortion, and adoption.

Talks about the far right loving to be illogical, not intelligent enough to realize toxic femininity is not only a thing, but it is currently a cancer of society. There is no such thing as toxicity from an underrepresented population. The reason toxic masculinity (and white toxicity) are a thing, is because white males make up the majority of the population of the world. If things ever change, then you'll see the definitions of toxicity change.

Toxic feminity is a thing, however I think a lot more of it is directed towards other women as a systemic means of upholding patriarchy and white supremacy.

Of course other genders are affected by it as well, but there is a reason women supporting women is a thing.

If you belive in toxic masculinity you should probably believe in toxic femininity too but I personally don't believe in toxic masculinity so I don't believe in toxic femininity either. Masculinity and femininity are both good things, every time I see claims of toxic masculinity it's just some dude being a general asshole, and women do that too so I'm not seeing why you wouldn't have both.

I think there might be cases specific to certain areas. In my line of work women are more prone to being bitches to each other. It's like they know it's still a man's world in this line of work and will cut each other off at the knees to be the woman to advance

Historically speaking anyways. Things have improved but we still got some old heads (women) who act this way.

Hell we got one supervisor whos a piece of work. She likes black men (nothing wrong with that) but she gets all bent out of shape when she sees female employees being friendly with black male employees and she starts to ride their ass about everything she can. She treats female subordinates like shit in general but that makes it worse.

My least favorite is the one who uses the excuse women had to be bitches to get respect back in the day. (Which to be fair was true)It's not back in the day.... the warden isn't a bitch and well she made it to warden.

Toxic masculinity doesnt mean that the whole concept of masculinity is a bad thing; its calling out particular elements that foster damaging personality traits and outlooks toxic.

Case I saw that pisses me off is my best friends now ex girlfriend. She wanted to be a stay at home mom. Ok no problem he made enough money. But then she wants him to share in the household chores but denies him the one thing he actually enjoys. Cooking. She's one of those types where she sees the kitchen as her domain and doesn't want other people fucking around in it. He's a better cook than her to boot.

Oh and she'd get mad at him for drinking too all the while he's supporting her weed habit. He'd love weed if it didn't give him panic attacks (it didn't once upon a tile but he had a traumatic incident while high) so beer is his go to.

I've seen a few like her. Not as extreme. But having the whole acting like the boss of the household when the man contributes far more.

But motherhood is associated with femininity. Even though it shouldnt be because men can get pregnant too.

I am just trying to get my head what not wanting to be pregnant has to do with femininity or masculinity. To me it is a non sequitur.
