I wanted Eleven with powers to have round 2 with the bully.

The episodes are too long lol. The best scene so far is Max running up that hill at the end of episode 4, tho Im only part way through episode 5.

One incredibly minor nitpick that pissed me off was when Maya Hawke was doing the stunt of putting mascara on in the car but there wasnt any mascara on the applicator.

Wait until you get to the last two eps. Theyre ridiculously long

I loved it

the fact that the final showdown happened in their minds and not actually face to face is fucking lame

The bully stuff was the worst thing in the season. I'm glad they didn't go back to it.

The rollerskate rink crowd all unanimously reacting the same way to both the bullying and the attack was ridiculous.

This stuff was ruining the season for me.

I liked it but

there is a big thing to complain about

they kinda destroyed their own lore of the upside down

unless they retcon it again next season lol

I mean, especially when you realize that the entire point of the bully arc was a misdirect that didn't really succeed in fooling the audience - 'oh, El lost her temper and clocked the bully with a blunt object, clearly she was capable of murdering all her fellow Hawkins test subjects' - it makes that arc that much more annoying.

I liked S4, but it definitely suffered from bloat. The showrunners weren't constrained by budget or time allotment like a regular broadcast show; it was pretty clear that they knew it, and dragged certain things out to an unnecessary degree. They could have easily cut a half-hour's runtime out of the last two episodes apiece and told the exact same story with the exact same gravity.

One thing in particular that started to grate was the cut-to-black fakeout. It worked great at the end of Ep 4, when you were genuinely unsure if the ep was going to end on the cliffhanger of Max escaping or not. But then they reused it like half a dozen times over the remainder of the episodes, and it got pretty annoying.

Kind of pointless to go back to the bully stuff when there are bigger issues at stake. She already took her anger out on her, she doesn't need to do any more

El walking slowly through Max's California fantasy, for starters. Pretty much everything involving the piggyback / Max's dance fantasy / El and Max stuck in Vecna's nightmare could have been streamlined; the whole sequence was well-done in terms of beats, the space between was just drawn out too long. Building tension is one thing, but when you literally have Max looking impatiently at her watch in her subconscious wondering when something's going to happen, you might have an editing problem.
