"no religion" again the fastest growing selection, at 38.9%, up from 30.1% in 2016.

As the older generation die out, won't be long before "no religion" is the dominant.. religion in this country.

I'm 31 and I don't actually know anyone around my age or younger who is religious.

As a Christian myself, I have difficulty seeing this as anything but a good thing. Christianity has been poisoned by fascism, and I don't think it will ever recover.

I identify as Agnostic. My family is Salvation Army, and just comparing what I was brought up as a kid compared to now, its definitely more main stream than it was 30 years ago. They have shifted their program to be more "hip" to try and capture todays youth. Doesn't seem to be working though, as there are so little people attending their gatherings. It's more or less a Christmas donation cause these days.

Lived with this Christian 21 yr old last year who hung up crosses throughout our house. Was just weird because she was open minded with sex and drugs but just loved Jesus. I didn't get it

Maybe she's just an ordinary Christian. It's kinda sad when people don't realize that Christians are also regular people, and are not all defined by the stuffy hardasses who abhor sexual acts and fight tooth and nail against abortion and homosexuality.

But there are still individuals and churches that are bad.

At the very least, religion offered a cope that there would be a reward at the end of the day. All the secular world can offer is "life sucks, and then you die."

And what's the point of the promise of reward if you know it's fake crap. I can't trick myself into believing it's real, no matter how much it could possibly delude me into thinking world suffering is worth it in the end.

I'm just saying that, despite the Roe V Wade thing, it's not religion that's really making everybody miserable. It's that the government and corporations are increasingly making slave labor out of the public.

Religion is a tool used by US politicians (and many others) to implement and enforce conservative beliefs and control the population. It's not really a factor that can just be ignored.

This. I consider myself a Christian who is more concerned with values than doctrine, and yeah....religious fanaticism has gotten out of control. Time for a new status quo
