There's literally hundreds of other communities out there that can be your safe space for free where the communities can have like-minded people towards you so I dunno why people keep going to the non-safe spaces to make it their safe space. Do these people like to be miserable?

I'm not looking for a safe space, per se, I'm just disheartened how eager people are to constantly dwell on how bad society is. CE's negativity and cynicism is unrealistically omnipresent.

Depends on our society is at the moment. Tensions are obviously high right now because of the RvW thing so people are gonna say drastic things, and deservingly so, so it doesn't bother me.

However, when people are acting like straight up Karens or being super pessimistic for ass reasons then I'll make fun of them for it. Why let people's craziness change who you are? Just shame them for who they are.

But it's a CONSTANT cycle of shitty societal woes. I'm just tired of it. It's like waking up every day with the expectation that today's gonna be good then be reminded "Oh yeah, some nut with a gun proved why civilians are unfit to be armed." Like there's no reprieve, society is off the fucking rails and it's pushed me off the cliff of hopelessness. That's why I broke down and sought out mental health counseling for like the fourth time in my life I need to break out of this because my misery is exceeding what I can live with on a daily basis.

I'd say I need religion but I'm also erring on the belief that modern Christianity is part of the problem with how bad everything is...

Well if you see someone and literally everything they post gets under your skin you're bound to form some animosity.

Personally I like that about forums. Be it good or bad people on forums have an identity and become recognizable. Compared to Reddit where everyone can say something but it's like talking to a bunch of people without faces. There's so much noise and lack of continuity between posts that identity is zilch. It's just a cluster of people, not a community. At least in a community you have friends and you have malcontents and you know who those are.

Like how discussions typically only really get in-depth and started when two opposing viewpoints viscerally clash. Until then it's just a circlejerk of "I agree" or a quick snide remark here and there of users seeking brownie points from online, faceless handles.

It's kind of like how here in Japan, more and more of the younger generations are increasingly interested in other countries, traveling, and even relocating to other countries. It was a concern in.....2011 I believe? But most brushed it off and are really seeing it nowadays with more global exposure through media and online resources.
Like how King of the Hill got a lot of popularity because it was a fantasy to have neighbors that interesting.
That was fun. So many online spaces flooded with new dreamers making plans to one day move to America and have a life like Hank.

Our culture's essentially one giant safe space, so much so to the point that there's no sense of community, everyone acts the same, and you never know who's legitimately your friend or if they legitimately like you because our society demands adherence above all else.
Basically, it makes everything feel fake, and is a cause for a lot of our suicides nowadays.

Say what you want about Japan, but at least other countries actually have shit, you know... happening and things to do as a result outside of sightseeing, bars, and other crap that you can do in any other country. And no, don't say anything about flowerarranging or calligraphy or stuff like that 'cause fuck you.

But I digress. Basically safe spaces suck. Sure, they emphasize "safe", but they also emphasize "space" because there's a hell of a lot of that in them. And I think most people secretly know that but just don't want to admit that conflict is inherently more enjoyable and interesting to them.
