What natural disaster poses the greatest threat where you live?

Tsunami would fall under earthquake or volcano

I live in NorCal, so while the earthquakes we might get tend to be minor, they happen from time to time.

I guess a really bad one can reach here.

Tornadoes are the more immediate threat, but another big New Madrid quake would do a hell of a lot more damage than any tornado could.

Yeah, I hear it gets wild up there.
I wouldn't worry about Yellow Stone. They're pretty certain we have at least a few thousand years before anything happens, and even then, it may not be a catastrophic eruption.

Them there Naders. Though past few years we've had some really weak ones. Cause a bit of damage then spin themselves out or end up out in the middle of nowhere. Those rarely get reported if they happen overnight.

It used to be hurricanes, when I lived in florida.
Never experienced an earthquake in my life.
Don't think Volcanos are a threat to me unless yellowstone erupts.

not even really sure. There have only been 2 tornados in my area in my lifetime and neither were very large or very close to me. I only recall 1 earthquake and there was more noise than actual shaking. I don't know of any volcanic activity in this part of the country. We do get a hurricane every now and then, but I'm far enough inland that they don't do much damage. The worst natural disasters I've had to deal with have been blizzards really, and mostly due to power outages, but even then, they haven't been terrible. A big enough Tsunami off the east coast could potentially be a problem, but it would have to be massive enough to wipe out most of new england.

Hurricanes. There's a crisis of people not being able to insure their homes, or if so only with ridiculous deductibles with triple - quadruple the premiums they were paying.

If another major hurricane or two hits this season its going to be wild to see the aftermath

Tornado, I suppose, but hurricanes can do some damage too. I don't have to worry about flooding too much in my area, though.

There's no volcanoes near me, and I've only felt one earthquake in the area in my 31 years of living. It wasn't that serious either.

Wut? What gives you that idea? A strong quake, especially one close to the surface will do horrible damage for hundreds of square miles, And the composition of the ground plays a big role. For example I live a few miles from the Mississippi, and iirc my house is on ground made up of river silt, thus a strong quake could do more damage to my house than it would do to a house on rocky ground, even if it is closer to the epicenter.

We get tiny earthquakes occasionally, but droughts leading to wildfires would be the biggest concern here. We've had nearby small town completely leveled by fires, as well as weeks of dangerous smoke filled air.

So Tornados are the biggest threat of those in the poll. Though Id say Blizzards are more likely to be a threat as well as flooding.
