I'm using the Immortal King armor set, which - when completed - increases my damage output by 4000% if I have two specific skills active at the same time.

I'm also using a weapon perk called the Gavel of Judgement, which buffs a skill called the Hammer of the Ancients by 800%. Before I got the armor set bonus, I was hitting everything for about 40 million damage with a combination of this skill and a seriousl buffed critical hit chance/damage.

4 billion damage is a good critical hit. The critical damage varies between 2-4 billion, hence the critical hit chance being raised. But still, I'm able to cut through about Torment 8 without dying immediately. What I need now is a defence/life buff.

Also I was doing a Greater Rift, and I got a pylon that greatly increased my damage. I was hitting over 10 billion:

Honestly, after playing this game for eleven days, I think I've just about run out of things to see and do. The Adventure mode missions are looping a lot, and I can't see my gear getting a whole lot better. That poses a problem for me because my defence is in the toilet - I have ten million defence points, but I last like a soggy tissue on Torment 10 and there's another six Torment difficulties after that.

All I have left is to farm better Immortal King armor with sockets, and hope that there's an endgoal where I can play on Torment 16. But I don't think the Barbarian is that versatile.

This is usually where I shelve it for a while, or maybe make a new character. Most of the fun is in the rapid power spikes of finishing a set it getting that exact legendary power you want.

Once it's down to farming ancients or upgrading gems, I'm about out of steam.

Youre probably missing some important legendary items if your defense feels bad.

At this point you just farm rifts for gear and eventually you should switch to the Wastes gear set and play whirlwind/rend instead of hota.

Yeah I'm starting to think that's a better idea. I've got two pieces of the Wastes set and a double I can convert, probably won't take me long farming level 44 rifts until I get a complete set.
