Where did I say blocking the roads is acceptable? I've only ever said that assault isn't cool and that the protesters weren't violent or going to actively resist the people assaulting them.

You're jumping straight to insults and making up things and attributing them to me after the fact to justify being angry. Which is to say, you're just being hyper emotional about this.

I said that it's not kidnapping, but because of all the other posts I responded to I could understand stuff getting lost in communication on your part, as the tone I was responding to say, that goku poster, and the tone I was using for others would differ and admittedly text isn't the greatest format for conveying tone when replying to a million posts from as many users.

More like people who are out protesting instead of working are privileged must be nice to not worry about putting food on the table and paying rent.

I dont know the legal definition of assault and assumed it was more like using force against someone with the intention of causing bodily harm, this is more like dragging a bratty child out of the way.

In any case moving the protestors sounds like the peaceful option when theres some people in those cars that one to just want to run them over.

Tell that to the British woman who now is permanently paralyzed down one side of her body thanks to these wastes of space blocking both the ambulance and her sons vehicle for several hours.

It got so bad that her son had to try and drive her to hospital due to these dumbasses blocking the ambulance as a result of their protest only to wind up caught in the same fucking traffic jam that the ambulance was caught in.

The people justifying assaulting protesters are the ones that need help. They just want an excuse to have a violent "outburst."

Under federal and state law, kidnapping is commonly defined as the taking of a person from one place to another against their will, or the confinement of a person to a controlled space.

They don't control the road so the space isn't controlled. Controlled space would be like, you can't leave the office because they're blocking the door out regardless of how large it is. The other drivers behind the ones in the front in that case would be considered blocking the way backwards which is why it's not a controlled space on the part of the protesters.

That's not what I said at all, and now you're just getting super emotional because you couldn't read what I said properly and had to bring up unrelated things entirely (that aren't even true of their experiences year-round considering the point of many harvests were to stockpile food for the winter so they'd not have to work every day to eat during that time).

I'm glad you can read my emotions through text. I'm not emotional. I just cuss like a sailor. It's how I am.

And still I don't work that hard for my food. I'd still rather go to my job and do what I do than do things the old way. Granted I wish that was still a viable option for people. For those that would rather do that.

You can see cars 3 wide in the video. I don't know why they're blocking the road instead of getting out of the way for the emergency vehicle.

It's almost as if the cars are blocked by protesters or something...

And yes it is akin to being held hostage, because like a hostage situation you can only be free if A) the protesters are oh so gracious enough to let you through or B) police arrive and take care of the situation or C) you do something drastic like get out of the car and walk to home/work/etc (lol).

Even if everyone does what they can to get out of the way for emergency vehicles it's still gonna slow them down greatly.

There are other ways to protest and inconvience people.

How the hell do you control if you block an emergency vehicle or not? I mean yes, if the vehicle is right in front of you, you can step out of its way. But if the emergency vehicle gets boxed in half a mile down the road from all the traffic you stopped while protesting, you can't just magically let it through. It has to snake its way through traffic and slowly navigate as people shift their cars out of the way, especially if no or little shoulder exists. It takes valuable emergency time for stopped vehicles to see the emergency vehicle coming behind them and do the appropriate shift. Now multiply this by however many vehicles that must do this and a trip for an emergency vehicle can have critical minutes added on.

Someone somewhere is always going to find some sort of protest to be inconvenient for them.

If not the drivers on the highway, it will be the drivers on the road stuck in traffic. Or the pedestrians on the road that have to take a detour.

Hold protests at Wal-Mart or something. I only go to Walmart cause it's the cheaper option. I either deal with the annoyance or I go to food lion etc. Paying more going somewhere else is still inconveniencing me

I dunno about the folks featured in the video as I dont speak Italian, but in the case of the British lady I was referring to, it was the folks wanting their homes insulated at the expense of the taxpayers allegedly due to climate change that were the guilty party responsible for her severe affliction.

I wanna point out a story of my grandma's. There was a protest over African American rights. She tried to step through the blockade and someone grabbed her. Cops beat the dude. My grandma was mortified. She never intended for that to happen She just had places to be.

That's all it was originally based on, and I can find no follow up from the few newspapers that did report on it. It seems a very dubious thing to claim factually happened unless isn't referring to this case.

I don't think that means much. They likely heard the same everyone else did, and gave an obvious response. They clearly don't intend to impact people like this and so apologising, regardless of if its true or not, is the sensible thing to do.

You'd think at least one newspaper would have sought this person out, given how eager they were to slam Insulate Britain into the mud and then ten feet under. And yet... none of them did, with this. Just seems odd is all.

And unless I missed it, all that video shows is the police removing them from the road. Couldn't really hear whatever was said though tbh.
