Diablo Immoral has micro transactions for cosmetic gear that will permanently disappear if you dont log in every 24 hours.

I heard that described as 'pay to be involved in a FOMO scheme', isn't it every 24 hours for a full month or it holds most of what you bought back until you buy another 30 days?

They are giving away some shit coin that can be used in their games. It's not strictly an in game thing but it affects the game. Like a retweet campaign except instead of tweeting something you have to download the MBX Wallet into your phone and keep it there.

take a look at the "strategy" genre like clash of clans, top war, FFXV new empire, etc. $10k is far from enough to max out everything.

$10k does not even get you a single top tier item in Diablo Immortal.

Average 5* gem is about $4444 but sell for about $250-500 worth of currency on the ingame AH (F2P players get $0.50/day, but there's other uses for it).
A full upgraded 1* gem is better than a 5* gem without upgrades. Upgrades are linear and the first upgrade effectively doubles a gem's power, so it's better for F2P's and even moderate spenders to focus on upgrading the gems they can get rather than chasing 5*'s.

And, btw, Diablo Immortal was delayed indefinitely in China so seems like they might lose out on their main market. Seems like a Blizzard dev at NetEase posted on Weibo (Chinese social media) 'Bear why don't you step down'. So China is cracking down on them hard.

Oh? Out of all the tactics employed to get gamers to log in every day that somehow manages to stand out from the crowd...

Stuff like that is going to result in new legislation in the European market, driving out games like this. Or, as Blizzard put it, the 'current operating environment' won't put up with their microtransaction BS.

Everyone keeps bringing up amounts in Diablo Immortal, and it seems kinda silly.

I think its GREAT that $10,000 doesnt get you far. Thats fantastic. Thats what those people deserve. The opposite is absolutely horrible.
