Like 8 worlds. Sometimes 9 worlds.
But like 8-9 levels each.

It really sucks cause it's so good. It's a pity Nintendo don't come out with a Mario game that lets you make your own levels. Or better yet have online so you could share and get other people's levels.

I bet that would be a great game.

wtf? How would that even work? Like look at how badly Castlevania 64 failed and that was 3D

I feel like they could branch away from just platformers too. Like maybe they could race go karts or plays sports or something too

if they DO ever let us make our own levels, could we have significantly LESS functionality than romhacking?

I know this is impossible but what if fans could modify the existing games to make their own games. "Fan" games, if you will.

I dunno man, I just have a gut feeling that there's a ton of untapped potential there. Having a 3D worldspace might open up freedom of exploration to the point where Mario could finally get a double jump or something (but not a triple jump though, let's not go nuts here). Plus can you imagine a Mario flight mechanic in full 3D? (Raccoon tail and / or cape would be tough to animate though, so...maybe just stick some wings on his cap or something?)

There's like a limitless ammount of fan made mario hacks online and some are really good.

I was looking at another franchise called Pokemon, not sure how popular it is tbh but it had a game called Pokkn Tournament which was actually a fighting game

And I thought that maybe you could do this with some of the Mario characters. I doubt it'd be very good with just those in the base game because really it would just be Mario, Princess Peach and Bowser but what if you expanded it a bit to include some other franchise characters like Luigi or maybe even Wario!!

They could also create new villains like an evil Mario, he could be named Evario.
