i have a lot riding on this. Its a phone interview and i am looking for any general advice rn lol

literally just be yourself. in my last interview they were using a technique that i am not really good at interviewing with so i told them that up front and we had a very casual interview where he was still able to gauge my skills.

never be afraid to admit you don't know something but show eagerness and excitement to learn - even if you have to fake it. you don't have to know everything, they can train you. but show them you're teachable.

make sure you show at least some of your personality while still being a good level of professional for the interview. it'll help you be more relaxed when you feel like you're still being yourself.

Theyre gonna ask you why you want the job

they might ask you to tell them about a time that blah blah blah - its usually about conflict at work or mistakes or something and how to handle them

and then theyre gonna ask if you have any questions for them

its good to have answers for all those kinda things in your head beforehand. Writing them down helps me

i want the job because Im gonna make a fuck load more money and it sounds a lot more fulfilling that what Im doin now!!

but i cant say that

tell them you've been looking for this type of position that has a fair compensation package and you'd be really excited to be doing something that feels more personally fulfilling

that shouldnt matter stuff only stays on your credit for 7 years I think

they just want to make sure you arent in like criminal levels of debt because those people get desperate and sometimes they find ways to steal from companies

it was more recent than i realized i got the card when i was 20 but it was about 6 years ago that i became delinquent

some people have like 6 or more maxed out cards and owe like 50k with no real way to pay it back

does that really matter though? I have no criminal record but i owe like $1100 to a collection agency

this is a contractor position for the government

I think they're prob just looking for a history of bankruptcies or anything

They may also be looking for court judgments against you

I would say though if they send you a link and try to make you pay for a credit check it's a scam job do not do it

yeah no bankruptcies or anything like that and it was literally one card from 5-6 years ago that got sent to collections. I just talked to family friend that referred me to this job and she said its more than likely that its fine, they just might ask me about it. I can pay it off if need be.
