It's just that hip hop is more real because the circumstances it comes from are way worse. But when rappers play a character, nobody accepts that it's a character similar to what Jason Statham or someone would do in a movie role. Just with way more subtleties and lore in hip hop. Far more interesting imo

I think there's definitely worth while discussions to be bad about the messages pushed by mainstream Hollywood films (torture good, cops good, both sides racism, etc).

But this probably isn't the right context to approach it.

The biggest movies of the last 20 years have been massively dominated by Disney owned franchises and Harry Potter. Hollywood has surprisingly done a solid job on this

Mental Health
Hollywood gun culture

Lack of religion
Demonization of law enforcement

Such as the fact the average American kid views about 200,000 acts of violence on big and little screens before they turn 18 -- and the FBI says a "fascination with violence-filled entertainment" is a huge warning sign for potential school shooters.

They can't seriously throw out a claim like that without backing it up with a source. I know this is tmz but even they're supposed to have standards.

There is probably going to be like 20 documentaries by the end of the year about the Texas and Buffalo shootings.

America is the only country that can see violent movies, after all.
