$220 plus tax for my own custom lightsaber and the show/experience of building it doesnt seem terrible

Make sure to spec faith and dex before you solo Mickey Mouse.

They look as close to movie quality as you can get without digital effects. I understand that they are delicate though so don't attempt to actually swordfight with them.

that's why you should go with KyberLight instead

It's not worth the price tag to me, but plenty of people enjoyed the experience when they did it. So... go for it TC.

Yeah, they look fantastic, but I haven't heard good things about their durability.

Yeah I have a Force FX Anakin lightsaber I got for Christmas when I was like 12 or 13, whatever year ROTS came out, and I love that thing. In the dark it looks so damn cool and the quality of the hilt looks straight out of the movies

Its proudly displayed in my home office but Ive always wanted a green or red one too, and having my own custom hilt sounds badass. I know there was a Hasbro kit for custom Force FX sabers back in the day but the pieces were all cheap plastic, this Disney World ones look more solid

Ive seen YT videos showing alternatives that are better for the same price. All depends whether you want the OFFICIAL stuff.

It looks like a wicked experience. But it seems like the lightsabre you actually go home with is extremely cheap quality. So its really your call if its worth it to you.

I have mine from Saberforge, it has the advantage of being higher quality (hilt is hard metal, blade is polycarbon and made for dueling) and has 3 preloaded sound fonts (Jedi/Sith/Droid). I got it for about the same price as what you have listed in the OP from Disney. I don't know if the official Disney ones can be used for dueling.

If you want the experience, I'd say go for it. If you want the quality and craftsmanship, there are better deals to be found in a lot of places.

I think my friend went and made a robot? Said that was better than the lightsaber.

This might be a completely different thing than what you're talking about, but I made a lightsaber at Downtown Disney when I was a kid. Don't remember how much it cost since my parents paid for it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't anywhere near $220. You got to choose different parts to customize its shape and color. What was cool was that, instead of the colored tube you usually see on lightsabers, it was clear while there was a colored lens inside the hilt that determined its color. I found a slightly off-color green disc, and that resulted in a yellow lightsaber. Also came with 3 kyber crystals that you could swap out to change the sound effects.

Of course the next couple times I went, the lightsaber making table had changed out its parts (like they now had colored tubes, but you could make a double saber). And I think last time I went, the table was just holding merchandise.

I ordered an Ultrasaber with the only COVID unemployment bonus I got back in July 2020. It's so fucking cool. It was like $400.

Nah, that's completely different. When the Star Wars themed area, Galaxy's Edge, opened a few years ago they added a full "experience" in one of the shops. You and the others in your group are "answering the call" for help and building your lightsabers to join the fight.

The experience itself looks amazing, just wish the sabers themselves were more durable for the price.

Personally I'd rather go with one of the replica ones of various characters throughout the franchise. Not sure if there's a quality difference though, I think they're around the same price.

They sell those in a shop you can get into fairly easily, less of a full experience thing and just a store, but most of those lightsabers are classics for a reason yknow?
