For those who aren't sure about it after the first, Dark Alliance 2 is a 10 compared to the originals 7. It is amazing. This will be a day 1 buy for me. More content, better characters, gameplay improvements, special character quests.

And a cliffhanger ending that never got resolved. -_-

Different publisher. Interplay could still do the Baldur's Gate ones, but both Champions games are owned by Sony.

We also won't really see others made in the same engine. Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was Interplay but the IP is now owned by others, both of the Untold Legends games released on PSP are Sony again, Justice League Heroes and The Lord of the Rings: War in the North are WB, Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers is owned by god knows who now given the involved companies are gone and The Bard's Tale was ported long before now.

That might be a bit of hyperbole. Sure, it was great when it came out, but it came out 18 years ago.

I could see a lot of people who've never played it before (sadly) thinking it's not a great game if they play it for the first time now. It's not a hugely deep game, the story is barely there, character depth isn't as robust as a lot of modern games... but if you're basically looking for an old-school hack-and-slash, it can be a lot of fun.

I feel like that was pretty much the calling card of that series - nothing was ever going to be completely resolved. Every story ends with the cliffhanger leading into the next one.

Beat the evil ghost woman? Here's a vampire! Beat him? Oops, here comes the mummy pharaoh from Mulhorand! If it'd kept going, DA3 probably would have had us fight off that guy only to find that the Tuigan Horde was invading. Then the next game would be something out of Chult.

To be fair, it has been almost as long since I played either. The first was okay, the second was a vast improvement in every way.

Yep. Plus you can unlock Drizzt and Artemis which is cool.

I can't remember how far I was, but got stuck where lizard people were IIRC.
