Unless there is no wall or sufficent barrier between the bathroom and tables I don't see why it would be a violation.

If youre a waiter and complaining being understaffed, why? You get more tables and more tips. Am I missing something? I get being understaffed in the kitchen, but not from the waitstaff whos main job is to clean tables, seat people, and deliver food/drinks

Most customers wont treat you like shit. The ones that do fuck them, but dont take it out in all customers. Everything else you listed is management/owners not the customers fault. As for seating me near the bathroom or kitchen door(really hate this last one) where every worker is passing behind me, hitting my chair constantly and barely missing my head yeah fuck that give a table where I dont have to constantly dodge people.

I eat out a lot and have only been to one restaurant that has a table near the restroom and it was a Corner Bakery, but you can pick wherever you want to sit in that restaurant.

All the other restaurants have a pretty good separation.

Let me just go to college with all the hundreds of thousands of dollars I don't have so I can be a debt slave and the be an unpaid intern to get a better job that then lays me off as soon as share prices drop after I already buy a car for the commute which is 300% more elxnaice then a few years ago more likely to break down and probably has needs a part that will be a 3 month wait or isn't made anymore.

Also in smaller places or people with felonies(often unjust just look at our fucking shit drug laws and pathetic public defenders) pickings can be slim. A lot of people for those and various others reasons can't just change jobs on a whim.

American restaurants should just do what that japanese do and have those little lights you can turn on above your table to call over the waiter. Would make things so much more streamlined. Don't want the waiter around? Keep the light off. Want a refill on your drink? Hit that light switch.

Because it's such a pitifully weak thing. Bathrooms are a daily integral part of our lives. Being repulsed by them to such a degree is simply childish and not something really reasonable to accomodate on the fly. I can assure you the design of our restaurant and cleaning are enough to make there be not an issue with smells. What would be an issue is losing a whole section of the restaurant decreasing capacity by about 15%.

Also a major issue I had is how rude and non communicative guests are on the issue.m. If you come in and say "Can I sit away from the bathroom" at the podium its fine long as you get that that may result in a wait sometimes or a booth being unavailable.

Like seriously have you ever been to a small local place, an older building or an establishment In an area where space is very much at a premium?

Honestly it's wild how people care much about where they sit without some significant factor like a back injury making a booth more comfortable or something. It's not a bad thing to have preferences but it's incredible how much it means to some of these people and the sheer aggresion in getting it. It's just an alien thought process to me. I just want to sit and eat and any preferences are trivial to me and don't make much difference to me.

Dude I can't plan my seating around ensuring children aren't near you. That is absurd. I get that they are annoying but it's just not feasible.

Employees and other guests matter too. If you take extra space or waste our time or make things complicated it impacts everyone else. Be prepared, polite and considerate(yeah yeah I see irony but remember this is a RANT topic. It's like setting up a punching bag)

Two way street. Us stupid fucking Americans think it's all about ourselves. I very much try to go with the flow and be cooperative. I feel awful for even wasting a couple seconds of someone's time on fumbling for a card or because I forgot to ask for something or whatever.

So when I need to blow up I blow up big because I bottle it up.

I can't even think of restaurants off the top of my head where this would a concern. Are people walking out of the bathroom less gross if they pass you an additional 20 feet away from the bathroom?

Seriously, where is hearing people shit and worrying about the stench or poop leaving the room a concern? Single table restaurants in an alley?

Sometimes, order entry is right next to the bathroom. Shouldn't we worry that the servers might transfer the bathroom stink to your table?

Nah customers can mostly do what they want at restaurants. If they want to change tables accommodate them, that's literally your job. As long as they're not being disrespectful to staff, the entire purpose of going out to a restaurant is to be served.

Also if youre a frickin hostess youre doing a disservice to the actual servers by pissing off their tables you sit with your whiny attitude.

All I gotta say is, there should be a mandatory class in highschool or something that forces people to work retail/restaurant for a month or two.

I like how everyone assumes a rant topic on an anonymous is how I actually am when dealing with people. I rarely actually refuse requests although there are limits.

How close to the bathroom are the tables? There are tons of places around here where the bathroom doors are <10 feet from tables and Ive sat at them and never had a problem or smelled shit. Restaurants usually clean their bathrooms pretty often.

and how often do people even shit while out to eat anyway? I feel like its not even very often because thats something people will be doing after they eat and leave. The only time Ive ever pooped in a restaurant bathroom is a highway rest stop McDonalds
