If you watched episode 1 you probably saw the warning, that scenes were filmed a year earlier, before the tragic events at Ulvade.

I feel like this whole warning was just kind of shit. If they were actually concerned about the opening scene "causing distress" for viewers in the wake of the shooting, why not just cut the scene? Could have just cold opened with the last 10 seconds of it and got the same point across. Feels just as bogus as the random rainbow logos all the major corporations bring out for Pride month.

I don't understand what the problem is. It's just a warning. Do you get mad every time you pick up a beer and it's like "What the fuck why is the surgeon general telling me not to drink this while pregnant"

Nah, I'm not mad about it. Just feels really disingenuous.

Why not also give a warning about the involvment of Russia/Soviet Union in Hopper's arc? I mean more people have died in the Russia invasion of Ukraine. Where is the warning for distress about that? Just feels like a cheap attempt to cover themselves regarding a very tragic event.

What's disingenuous about putting a content warning before a scene depicting dead kids right after a school shooting?

Probably because it's a very important scene to the plot?

The scene is really important to the season. Cutting it would make no sense.

I'm surprised there was no warning before that episode of The Boys where Butcher goes to that gun show.

Gotcha. I havent finished the season yet.

At first watch it just seems like it could have been the last few seconds, El just standing in the aftermath with Papa. Was thinking cut it down without completely removing it

Remember when old CE bitched about content warnings all the time before they were called "trigger warnings"?

You really need to finish the season? You can't just guess that the revelation that Eleven apparently murdered a bunch of children when she was ten will be important?

I cannot convey the feelings I feel by you saying "just cut the scene" properly without getting suspended again so I will just politely say that I disagree with you.

I guess I didn't even really connect that scene in that way (though it does make sense). It was (episode 4 spoilers)the kids getting caught in that shootout between the agents protecting them and the military that I was thinking might be rough for some people to see right now.

Yea do it, champ!

My point about the scene was, the fact that El slaughtered a "hospital" of kids could have been conveyed without the whole scene.

My main point, was that the whole warning just seemed kind of flippant for as serious of a tragedy as it was addressing.

Rewind 21 years to September 2001 and imagine a movie coming out with an attack on NYC...think there would have been a lot more than a 2 second, 4 line message.

Twenty-one years ago, we had the first episode of The Lone Gunmen.
While the Lone Gunmen are thwarted in their attempt to steal a computer chip by Yves Adele Harlow, Byers receives news of his father's death, and the trio soon find themselves unraveling a government conspiracy concerning an attempt to fly a commercial aircraft into the World Trade Center, with increased arms sales for the United States as an intended result.

Yeah, if they'd shot it that way. But hastily cutting parts of it out would have just made it shit.

Thankfully nobody has ever heard of or seen that episode.

Regardless, the Fallout x Stranger Things crossover has been kinda meh so far.
