BioWare has been hard at work on the next chapter of the Dragon Age franchise and today the studio is ready to reveal a title. The next game in BioWares fantasy RPG series is called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

Fans of the series will know the Dreadwolf is a reference to Solas. Without going into spoilers, Solas, a magical party member and potential love interest in Dragon Age: Inquisition. BioWare released an official blog thats light on details but dives into Solas story a bit more.

Solas, the Dread Wolf. Some say he might be an ancient elven god, but some say not, the blog says. Others say a betrayer of his people or a savior who now seeks to rescue them at the cost of your world. His motives are inscrutable and his methods sometimes questionable, earning him a reputation as something of a trickster deity a player of dark and dangerous games.

BioWare says that using Solass namesake no doubt suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities of where things may go. But at the core of this, like every past game, is you.
Solas has been teased for the next Dragon Age game since 2018, but BioWare says veterans and newcomers to the franchise will get their chance to meet the Dread Wolf in due time.

BioWare confirmed that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will not be releasing in this year, but that development is ongoing. The team is promising more information later this year.

In addition to the next Dragon Age, BioWare is also working on a new chapter of Mass Effect, which seems to hint at the return of Shepard.

Nice.

Sucks they're still using Frostbite, now that EA isn't forcing that engine on their devs anymore, but I understand that would just delay things even more.

I just hope us sick Solasmancers get a better payoff than Hawke simps, in regards to their relationship with Corypheus' downfall. But I somehow doubt it.

It's quite possible that in trying to do what he wants he awakens the other elven gods and then we have to deal with them instead of Solas, or some blight/ancient god stuff he accidentally triggers. Maybe even Qunari related things.

I wouldn't be too mad at that, it would actually make some sense while still being related to the Dread Wolf. I don't want that to happen, but at least the foundation would be there.

I kinda feel something is gonna happen with the elves he trapped/Eluvanis or even stuff related to the Titans (thanks to lore reveals in Descent) from whatever he does. It being in Tevinter makes me suspect the Qunari will be involved somehow, especially with how much Solas despises their ideology. There is a lot to work with and much he could trigger is his misguided attempts to fix what he did - much like he did to cause everything and I feel that part of the game will at least be fixing whatever he does.

The Qunari are currently in the process of invading Tevinter and have captured several cities along the coast, so they will definitely be involved, especially after the big spy ring assassination plot in Trespasser.
