the voicemail was strange. the lady said i need to call them back and they EXPECT my call before 6pm tonight and that i HAVE TO CALL.

didn't say why

i looked them up. apparently they're scummy collections agency that says fuck the law and does whatever they want. discuss your finances with other people, say you have to pay when you don't, refuse to give you details about your debt, etc.

i checked my credit report and there are no collections on there. i filed for bankruptcy last year so im guessing they're trying to hope im dumb and tell me that i have to pay them back anyway. not gonna happen.

i kinda wanna treat them like a phone scammer and answer next time and just fuck with them for a couple hours.

They want to talk to you so you slip up and admit to the debt on a recorded call because they likely have 0 proof you owe any of the debt they bought.

Also, not paying debt collectors has your credit clear quicker than paying them. They work kinda like gamefaqs moderations. Doing nothing has it go away from your history faster.

Don't.

Treat collections agencies like cops, never speak to them.

Um, bruh, everyone literally gets those voicemails. It's not even because you filed for bankruptcy, it's just coincidence.

Protip: you will never ever have a collection call via voicemail without the person being very specific. Do they say their name? If not it's a scam. Real people say their name on a Voicemail.

Protip2: Don't even worry about Protip1, collection voicemails are ALWAYS a scam.

They usually infact don't want you to know they are collections. Usually they will spam call you and not tell you what the call is about until you give out your details. As such, just don't tell weirdos on the phone your details.
