enemy levels are fixed, so try to not super overlevel things if you want them to be moderately engaging

having more than two of the same type in your team is generally bad, though early on you can't be too picky

Yeah, many comptetitive OR good story teams involve no more than two of each type. Mu Sw/Sh team for story had one of everything except Flying, which had two. My competitive team generally always had 2 dragon types.

I mean, I always try to complete the dex. "Gotta Catch 'em All!" and all that. Also the shiny charm. Gotta get those shinies.

Also yeah if somebody has scarlet I wouldn't mind doing some trading some time this weekend. I need to figure out all the Violet exclusives and get those ready.

Lamo, I don't pay attention to smogon much anymore, but they are not even going to implement Teralize into showdown. It's not a matter of if it will be allowed in the meta, they straight up do not care at this point.
It's so funny to see a community so stuck in the 2009-2010 Pokemon mindset.

whether anyone wants to play that format is another thing since they've always just played their own fan formats, but you can absolutely go right now and go play an unranked friendly match with teras in pokemon showdown

Are the tera Pokemon worth breeding?

The thing about breeding is you can kind of make a perfect Pokemon without doing it. You can use bottle caps to make IVs perfect. You can use mints to change nature. You can use Mirror Herbs to teach egg moves. You can use capsules and patches to get the ability you want. And you can use shards to change Tera type. Really breeding just seems like it's really only useful for shiny hunting now, unless I'm missing something.

I can't do it tomorrow but I can Tuesday night if you don't have them by then. I gotta build an actual team anyway. Going to work in evolving a Magikarp soon. Also not sure if anybody ever mentioned it but you can get a free tera pikachu by connecting to the internet in game.
