Homer literally does nothing at work, sometimes he actively causes problems. Homer is utterly inept and unqualified for his position; he works neither hard nor smart. Yet, he is rewarded as if he earned it.

This comment applies to way too many people.

The democrats had their chance. LBJ's administration knew for a fact that Nixon and Kissinger sabotaged the Vietnam peace talks during the leadup to the 68 election solely so that Nixon could continue running as the peace candidate (mind you this is treason, and punishable by death, at least on paper) They chose not to do anything about it because LBJ was afraid that the public learning such a thing would cause a crisis of faith in the Government.

Once you've allowed such a thing to happen because of political practicalities your whole system of Government is corrupt and doomed to fail, we are just living through the consequences of LBJ's failure to act. None of the shit that has come since would have happened if Nixon and Kissinger had been held to account.

Grimey's comments seem to rely on the idea that America somehow has the world's greatest security net for people who can't work

Grimes' problem was that he hated Homer (who despite his privilege is a good & honest man) rather than the system that allows the disparity between Grimes and Homer.

He absolutely did not have a superiority complex over people. He was respectful to everyone including his co-workers and Homer's family.

Homer literally got Grimes a massive reduction in pay and nearly fired after Grimes saved his life due to Homer's incompetence. A bullet Homer made Grimes take.

Homer is putting everyone in danger at the plant and has caused meltdowns.

Imagine someone crashes into your car, smashes your knee with a crowbar, steals your phone and wallet, pisses on you and goes "I hope ya die bitch." before driving his nicer car than yours back to his nicer house than yours.

And then someone goes "You shouldn't be mad at him, you have a superiority complex. Be sad at the society that led to him." is just a complete lack of comprehending human emotion, logic and psychology.

I get that the 1% sucks and American capitalism is corrupt and broken. That doesn't make Grimes a bad person for being mad when a complete jerk consistently does recklessly dangerous and harmful things to him 5 days a week.

I think people get too hung up on Grimes' line about how Homer would have died in any other country and take it hyperliterally and as if it's the only thing Grimes ever said.

Grimes really didn't do anything wrong right uptil he snapped at at the end, and even then he only hurt himself. That was the entire dark humor

it's a classic deflection method: "don't blame [responsible individual who can be held accountable], blame [massive distributed non-entity who cannot be held accountable, and if it could, it would crush you if you tried]"
