Or if nothing else, the seventh generation of consoles?

It feels like they put just as much effort into General Knoxx as they did into the main game. It laid the groundwork for Borderlands 2 by furthering a tonal shift towards comedy. It's the biggest DLC by a country mile, with an in-depth combat arena and a raid boss. It has two new vehicles, they upped the value of loot with the new Crimson Lance chests, and they introduced a series mainstay in Athena while fleshing out Moxxi and bringing her into the game world.

As far as DLC goes, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx stands out to me as a high-quality, good value product that adds value to the original product and improves its standing. I'm not saying it's got as much going as like an Age of Empires expansion pack or Neverwinter Nights campaign or whatever sacred cows people like to defer to. I am saying that this DLC is up there with some of the best expansion material ever released for a video game, if only for the seventh generation of consoles.

That DLC was pretty fun from what I recall, yeah. Part of me kinda preferred BL1 to BL2, honestly.

This sounds like an automatic disqualification for it to be considered one of the best dlcs ever.

Knoxx was huge. Felt more like an expansion rather than something I'd simply call a DLC. Like comparing Shivering Isles to Knights of the Nine or whatever the other Oblivion one was called.

I only played the second game for the first time relatively recently. It's good, but it's very cluttered and it's really dated as well.

Like the first game isn't exactly quality. There's a lot of dead air and repetitive tasks. But it has a simplicity to it that makes it fun to come back to time and time again.

Try playing Borderlands 2 today and the "wouldn't it be crazy if this plausible and extremely cruel thing were to occur right now without any warning? Aren't I glad that this fairly likely and incredibly painful scenario has absolutely zero chance of ever affecting me!" humor gets old really quick. Sanctuary citizens walk around making dubstep noises with their mouths.

And frankly? I like Claptrap. I kinda hate what they turn him into in 2, and by killing off the rest of the Claptraps and making him the last one, I think the cruelty they level towards him makes me dislike the game more than I'm supposed to dislike Claptrap.

And like I kinda get the Handsome Jack thing, but I don't get why everyone gets a raging boner over him being one of the best video game villains ever. It's like the games start taking themselves a bit too seriously when I kinda prefer the vibe of being a goon looking for treasure.

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is so good, they made a stand alone game with the same title.

I forgot that game was out tbh. Like I've heard zero press about the game.

I hope it's good though. The franchise is probably going to crater when the movie comes out, so hopefully Wonderlands is something to play when they stop making Borderlands games.

I thought Jack sucked in BL2, but was awesome in Tales from the Borderlands. I forget how he was in Pre-Sequel, but probably better than BL2.

Claptrap is really annoying, so I'm fine with him being dumped on constantly all the time 24/7. Most people in BL2 are annoying, though, so it's not like he's alone in that regard.

Dragon Keep is easily the best piece of Borderlands content.

Wonderlands is decent, I liked it much more than BL3 at least. Then again I've heard the BL3 DLCs are good but haven't played them and I know from experience the Wonderlands DLCs are most definitely bad.
