I've got a top of the line TV but I'm on a last gen console so the graphics aren't incredible by any means. Still pretty good given that it's also being played through their cloud gaming thing.

But the game itself? Honestly one of the best "video game" creations of all time. This map is insane. The detail is insane. I've spent just a few hours dicking around and I've barely scratched the surface.

It's honestly a freaking work of art. The ONLY downside is no in-game voice chat. I watch those videos from airforceproud and that shit makes me laugh but knowing it has to be done through discord or whatever is disappointing. I was just hoping for random matchmaking shenanigans.

Still. Big picture, this is truly an astonishingly well-polished and well-designed game.

I love it. Built a PC just for it. I scout out places I want to hike and then go fly it on flight Sim

I tried it out for a bit when it launched on PC, it turned my room into a damn sauna lol

It was really cool flying around my city though

Its only for Series X/PC not original XBONE. Just seen its on original XBONE but cloud only.

Yea it was PC and Series X for a while but launched via gamepass/cloud gaming for XBone in March

You make your own. I set way points to explore Joshua Tree national park, and flew it at low altitude, checking out the region and then Palm Springs. It's definitely an old man game like Truck Driver Sim or Farm Sim.

Agreed. In fact I have it booted up right now.

I've landed the seaplane...as it were, at some of the same places I canoe!
Actually, I was doing that with Sim Flight X as well.

But ya, when extrapolating how recognizable certain places are...to the entire globe, it's just amazing.

I can only play a couple hours a week since through the cloud, it burns roughly 1gb/hrs.

Wish I had my 200mbps unlimited back.

The fucking game basically teaches you how to fly. So unless youre already a pilot theres an objective right there.....

I was able to jump in to random flights and at least stay moderately airborne in the tiny two-seater easy jets. If you've played a shooter or something like Battlefield or COD that has planes in any capacity, you'll at least be able to stay airborne without much issue.

Jumping into a 747/A320 is a different story.

The flight training is helpful and doesn't take too long. Teaches you a lot of the basic terminology. I just finished takeoff and landing.

Getting the controls down can take a bit.
There certainly is a learning curve. But it's worth it.

Also, I would train with a Cessna.

for sure. the cessna is easy enough for your instincts to at least keep you airborne with no real issue

cant say i know for sure what i got, i assume it's just the base model on gamepass. seems to have more or less everything with the exception of some airports and some planes that are in the deluxe model. including a hot air balloon i believe

The super hornet that MS gave us is ridiculous.

I do however feel like MS have gotten some of the modding community to make payed DLC.

I have the PC version from Steam.
I will say however, it is a massive download, as in three hours, and it probably contributed to my power supply crapping the bed.

Still, it is a breathtaking program.

Same. I was actually trying to find my hometown about 40 mins from the airport but I got lost. Saw a little pinpoint that referenced the college town's municipal airport so I went out there instead and saw my uni as well. Found the dorm I lived in and the parking lot I would cut across to the rec center along with the route I would take up to campus itself (before accidentally crashing into the baseball field)

It's available on Xbox One as well but only via Gamepass. Best $1 I've ever spent

My rtx 2080 can't run it without heating up to like 80 celcius and fan running loud making the room warm.

Maybe i need to turn down the settings but it's really hard since i feel like I'm not playing the game as intended if I turn stuff down.

I'll wait a few years when the 40xx cards come then I'll give this game another chance

Yes, very true. That probably accounts for around 50 hours or so.

Ya, I noticed my hours seemed really high, then realized that count all the time.

I would say it takes me about 10min at least to actually get on the tarmac.
~It's totally worth it. But there have been times I forgot I had it booted up.

It's the best looking game on any platform for me.
