so basically it was on the same level of humor as saying "fart" in front of a bunch of 5-6 year olds

No, people are upset that they paid for John Mulaney tickets and were subjected to an unbilled comedian making jokes that alienated them in a crowd of 12,000 mostly cis people in the most transphobic state in the country. Its sad that you actually do have a brain from what Ive seen from some of your posts and you still choose to express your ridicule and dismissal of trans people in every topic where you can come up with a way to be insulting to us without getting yourself modded. You can sneer to yourself about it all you want, but if thats all you really get out of it on a personal level, I feel sympathy for you.

I have to wonder how Chapelle would feel if someone white comedian got up and did a bunch of "lol black people" jokes. Punching down isn't funy, it's just bullying.

He's gonna joke about it even more now. And it's gonna do nothing but get him free publicity and more money and others are gonna want to get in on it like Mulaney. Many comedians also thrive on being controversial.

There is no endgame here. He's gonna continue selling out shows and making specials and people are gonna continue enjoying him. Labeling his fans transphobes and right-wingers is likely gonna backfire badly.

Eventually people will just start ignoring all the people complaining, which might potentially spread to other things.
