The last two jobs I have were really shitty (assembly line worker and working at a medical clinic) , after I got fired from assembly like one ,I was in a panic since I had no other income and desperately went looking for a job. A year later I was fired from the medical clinic one and that I felt so relieved (by that point my VA benefits kicked in so I wasn't even sure why I stayed as long as I did, I kind of regret not quitting the moment I got my VA). Both jobs were horrible for my health (standing up all day when you're legs are screwed up is not pleasant and too much work drama and shit). I am very happy I never have to deal with other people in a work setting ever again.

Getting fired is not fun.

It plays with your confidence when you get a new job.

Only got fired once for to many lates, working at sears at the time about 10 years ago. Felt relieved but it was the lowest paying job I've ever worked. Met life long friends there though most of them got married these past few years.

Only ever got fired once
My response to when I got told 'you don't seem very upset' was 'uh yeah, I'll make more guaranteed money a week on unemployment since you never gave me the hours despite me being the only one to constantly put my name them for the full seven days, you only ever get me like 10 hours a week'

And by fired it was more 'look uh, after probation we think you don't really hit the 'customer service' metric we want'. Mostly because I asked a customer if he wanted a punch because he called the new staff member a word we cannot post on CE because she couldn't let him into a showing of a new movie since he had no ticket.

I wouldn't know since I've never been fired. I can't imagine it feels too great, though.

The only time I was "fired" was when I quit without notice and the company decided to record it as a firing. Goes without saying I probably wouldn't have done that if I didn't feel okay with it so...

(Or I guess, if you count a situation where the business is sold, and the owners count it as terminating employment with the old owner then immediately starting new employment with the new owner, as "firing". That's happened to me twice.)

The only job i got laid off from told me 20 minutes into my shift. Like why? And they expected me to work the rest like normal.

Got laid off from my first job years ago and felt horrible, was worried sick about how I was going to pay my bills and stay afloat. But then during my next job I got my debts paid off and managed to put a decent amount into my savings, and now getting laid off / fired doesn't even bother me any more. A few times I've even felt relieved (especially that time I got fired).

I told that manager from the start that I didn't want a lot of overtime unless it was some kind of emergency. Warned him over and over as he kept asking me to stay for after-hours work, until I eventually put my foot down and told him no. He didn't like that very much. My contract was terminated the next day. Found a better paying job 3 weeks later. God it's good to have an in-demand skillset.

It was great being fired from a call center, no more drama, no more shitty customers, until I tried to get unemployment for that shithole to go 180 and claimed I quit.

I've been fired once. It felt great, I was absolutely elated. Like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. For the longest time I had felt stuck or trapped. Despite having no college education, I had a good paying job. It made me miserable, but I knew I couldn't do better elsewhere. I got too used to the paycheck and I knew I was never going to quit. I lost all ambition and I kind of gave up on myself ever going to school and becoming someone.

But things happened. My mom passed away at a relatively young age. It made me think a lot my life and my future. It also made it very hard for me to get up in the morning and get to work on time. I started showing up late, or taking the entire day off. My superiors ignored it for months, knowing the circumstances. But eventually they gave me a verbal warning, then a written. After another month of terrible attendance I got a one-day suspension without pay. Then a three-day suspension a month later. The next step was termination but because I had such a good reputation they gave one more three-day suspension without pay. I was like, I'm done just term me already lol. So, they finally did.

I was so happy, I knew that I had no choice but to start living my life to the fullest. I packed up my belongings, and drove across the street (conveniently enough) to the local community college and got signed up for classes. That was 4 amazing, highly successful years ago. Fast forward to today, I graduated with my MBA two weeks ago and I have a kick-ass job at a place I love. So, getting fired was everything that I knew it would be and more.
