Supposedly Naomi was supposed to win the match too. I wouldn't be surprised if it was supposed to lead to a generic team breakup angle, and Sasha seems like basically the only person on the roster who gives a **** about the tag titles. At least this is the story r/squaredcircle seems to think.

Sucks, but I don't blame them for it.

It has to be Doudrop for one of them, they've spent the least amount of in-ring time with her and she's a relative unknown when it comes to encounters with Sasha & Naomi.

Considering how badly they were buried on commentary, in Becky's promo, and in WWE's statement, I'm pretty sure this is a legit "took their ball and went home" moment. Vince had commentary and The Rock bury the fuck out of Stone Cold when he walked out too. He's just that petty.

The rumor is that they were going to feed Naomi to Bianca and Sasha to Ronda (essentially using the tag champs as fodder to elevate the singles champs and make the tag titles/champs look like shit by comparison) and that's what they were unhappy about more than anything in tonight's match specifically. That plus a possible breakup storyline right after that for the tag champs... yeah, that's some shitty booking right there.

There's a clear difference between doing that in the early 2000's men's tag team division (where the division was already really strong and filled with credible teams ready to be elevated) and doing that in the current-day women's tag team division (where there are basically no legitimate tag teams and all of the various thrown together teams are being broken up every couple of months often for no good reason). Sasha and Naomi wanted to elevate the women's tag team division, while WWE creative is basically doing everything in their power to prevent them.

Vince is getting too stingy to have a not-HHH top star.
Just look at the Strowman screwjob: dude was getting paid too much for Vince's liking, so he was kicked down the card and then shitcanned.

It also doesn't help that Vince has never liked Tag Teams to begin with.

I can understand Sasha & Naomi's feelings on elevating the Women's Tag Team division and how Creative is shitting on them.

All the Women in the Roster wants a proper Singles World Title, Singles Mid-Card Title, & Tag Title division. That isn't asking for too much.

Honestly, since Roman has unified the two Main Titles @ Wrestlemania 38:
UWU (Undisputed WWE Universal) Championship = WWE Championship + WWE Universal Championship

They should go and Unify the Tag Team Belts and let the Champions bounce between the two brands.

The US Championship can stay on RAW

The IC Championship can stay on SmackDown.

The Women's titles need to be Unified.

The Women's Tag Titles needs to be more prominent and a regular staple of the show.

Their needs to be a Women's Mid-card belt.

Call it the "Trans-Continental" title and have it be the new "Women's Mid-card" belt.
