Nintendo only has gimmicks and some great franchises left so no shit they have to keep changing it up.

Ever since the gamecube did not do as well they have been a complementary system to whatever Microsoft or Sony put out.

Nintendo is the fries to Sony and Microsofts Burgers, a side not a main.

Nope plenty of them included gimmicks. Gimmicks by designs are things that draw people into purchasing a system. Even better tech is arguably a gimmick. Or shall we ignore a lot of the things being introduced such as the PSVR2? Or other additions to systems?

And hell you can also argue at the time disc based media was also a gimmick given things like the N64DD or the Sega CD and other similar concepts before Disc took off.

Yes as a means to attract you into buying into things. Granted a gimmick can eventually lead into a standard over time but the fact is that they were used to sell systems.

In this context and in common ****ing parlance dude, gimmick does not mean better graphics, it means something outside the normal progression of technology to attract usually an untapped market.

That doesn't matter "at one point" you're just arguing semantics because you're wrong. Which is what you've done this whole time.

Better graphics are expected with a new console that is more advanced and not a retro release.

Just because Nintendo took themselves out of the console competition does not mean people dont expect certain things with a new release from them.

Yeah it does matter because at the end of the day Nintendo isnt the only one that relies on gimmicks. All systems made had gimmicks to go with them and they still add in gimmicks now.

I mean the Dual Sense has a built in mic and speaking for in game and party chat so it has gimmicks built in. The fact is though for starters a gimmick by default isnt a bad thing and every new system has some degree of gimmicks with new stuff being added in that may or may not be standard. If people are implying Nintendo is the only one to do gimmicks they are lying out the ass.

Doesnt matter, if it a gimmick? Yes? There you go! These things are always included in some way shape or form on these systems and sometimes they become a standard others they drop them like a brick.

See the Kinect as example of a MS gimmick for their last two systems.
