So in the story, King Louie offers protection for Mowgli in exchange for man's secret on how to generate fire. Overall it's a fairly win-win deal if Mowgli takes it, since he has no desire to leave the jungle. Assuming of course that Louie honors the deal

But, let's say Mowgli decided to be cool and took the deal. He forges an alliance with our cousin primates. Do we think Louie would have honored it? After all he gets what he wants, no reason not to.

I do think monkeys could protect him from Kahn. They are really strong and have numbers.

But why did Louie want fire, of all things? How would that give him an advantage? Is it purely for destructive purposes, or does he really just wanna learn to be a human?

Mowgli never knew how to make fire, so a deal was never possible.

I'm aware. But this speculation is based on the possibility that Mowgli would commit to finding out and sharing this knowledge.

side note, this was the only movie my grandpa would ever watch with me. Honestly he doesn't really watch TV shows or movies at all, he's a book worm. But he really liked Baloo as a character lol.

another side note, when that other monkey was doing his own melody ruining Louie's song and they started having an impromptu competition always makes me laugh

The 2016 live action movie is literally the only good movie out of the past 8 years of garbage live action remake movies. It had a likable mowgli and surprisingly enough had some themes from the book as a foil in the modern age
