Stuff I've enjoyed:

Forza Horizon 5: What I've spent the most time on, and one of my games of the year for 2021. If you want an exciting, easy car racer, this is what you're looking for.

Nobody Saves the World: Good Candidate for the most fun indie game of the year. Laugh out loud Zelda-Like comedy, where you're some random person who gets their hand on a wand, and learns how to turn into all sorts of creatures and classes, from rats and Knights, to mutated mermaids and dragons! It's from the same creator behind the Guacamolee games.

Generation Zero: God and win. Got bored after a month, but god, it was so much fun for so long. It's you with your guns(and up to 3 other players) in a european country in the 70's against a bunch of mechas. No visible humans are on screen, but there are audio recordings, and they're really interesting. It's insanely immersive too. Basically, it's the Core version of Fallout 76 executed really really well.

Fallout 76: All I have to say is WOW! This really did get better! I think it's the most fun 3d Fallout game.

Young Souls: I made several topics about this on a few places on gamefaqs and reddit. One of the best indie games I've ever played. It's a merciful 2 player side scrolling beat em up souls-LITE(Not to be confused with a Souls-like) Whole game is fun, and the last few hours were really emotional with some very memorable plot twists that elevate it beyond something that's just Pure Fun!

Death's Door: My first Souls-Lite. God it's good!

Octopath Traveler: Played a lot of it, done almost everyone's first chapter, it's so damn good! Nice to find another rare JRPG made after the PS2 era that I can enjoy.

Wierd West: Another good candidate for Indie Game of the year. Very much like Fallout 2, and probably the best Fallout 2-like that I've ever played. Can't reccomend it enough!

===

Stuff I played and didn't get far:

Outriders: Got Way too hard for me, but I enjoyed it for quite a while.

Destroy all Humans: Was fun for a couple missions, then I found it sure repetitive.

Back 4 Blood: It's great, too bad it's hard as hell to find someone online that wants to play with me, and random groups just plain don't stick around.

Halo: MCC: Yeah, I keep trying and failing to get into Halo, I just can't stay immersed for long.

Flynn: Son Of Crimson: This was so cool, until I got stuck on a level for like a month, then I came back to it when I found a video walkthrough covering what I was confused about, and then I just couldn't stay immersed.

Dodgeball Academia: Was fun for a while, but it suddenly kept thinking my controller was disconnected. Killed the game for me.

The Ascent: Reminds me of Bioshock in that I was immersed like nothing else for a few hours, then the atmosphere got so repetitive that it felt like it was giving me a migraine.

Outer Worlds is pretty good. If you haven't played the Yakuza games I'd try those as well.

You all only mentioned 2 or 3 titles at the most? Is that really all that you've played on it that you've enjoyed?

Batman Arkham Knight- they used to have the whole trilogy available but this one is the only one available now. Still really fun open world game

Skyrim - stunning open world game that youve probably already played, but if not its a must

Fallout 4- takes place in Boston, MA which is my favorite city so its my favorite of the series. Also has the best graphics, but a lot of people dont seem to like it as much as the others.

Gears of War 1-5 - all of them are fantastic action packed games that have aged really well. Even the original looks great today. Really fun games

Forza Horizon 4 - I loved FH5 (was probably my favorite game of the last year) but I put even more time into 4. If youre looking for a new environment (Great Britain) but more of the same from 5, check it out. Its wonderful

Viva Piata and VP: Trouble in Paradise - two really fun, relaxing games. I go to these when I need to meditate and turn my mind off. You create your own garden and collect and breed wild animals (Piatas) that come to visit

Solasta - A 5e-based DnD game that is actually turn-based and moves on grids like actual DnD. The story is pretty meh, the voice acting is bad but funny, and multiplayer was released recently so can be a little finicky at times. It's still a good time if you want to play some DnD with friends.

The voice direction and extremely bizarre looking faces kills it for me.

That's fine, hope you get your fantasy and sci-fi stories somewhere else though, and don't just play video games @Grinderpug

I didn't even play Yakuza onn gamepass. I own em all on Playstation.

Rainbow Six Extraction can be fun but you need a good squad (2 teammates) and like replaying levels.

I didn't enjoy Sunset Overdrive that much
Recore was fun until you need to grind to get to the final boss. Thats where I quit.
Banjo Kazooie was fun. I played it for the first time on Xbox Gamepass
Gears 5 was okay. I didn't realise Gears 4 directly tied into it tho so I was only slightly confused.

The Mass Effect trilogy is on there too if you haven't played it.

Oh I also really enjoyed Dragon Age Origins but only the PC version.
