Interesting concept. Fantastic cinematography and very unique visuals. Great acting by JGL and Bruce Willis. It hits different since the news of Willis deteriorating health and stepping down from acting.

I have a feeling CE might go the other way on this one, but when do they not.

It's not a better movie than Timecop

I like the film, but can't stand Bruce Willis. Guys an pompous asshole.

I really enjoyed it when I watched it. I haven't seen it since.

And I like the work done to make them look alike. JGL also does a good job of copying his mannerisms

Excellent movie

I only saw it once in theaters. I remember being very excited for it, and then being disappointed after I saw it.

but I really dont remember much about it

I saw it in a random mall theater while I was on tour. I remember it being pretty good but I had also been heavily day drinking because it was a day off. I also remember the end not really making any sense but I dont remember it well enough to recall why.

Has one of the best endings too, although abrupt. Quality film.

It's a really good movie with a very interesting premise. The film does feel abrupt, but at least it has a plot reason for it. Solid film 9/10.

Then I saw it, I saw a mom who would die for her son, a man who would kill for his wife, a boy, angry & alone, laid out in front of him the bad path. I saw it & the path was a circle, round & round.

They should have just done it without altering JGL's face though

It just seemed like a plot i've seen a dozen times before, and a dozen times after.
I think at least two more of those also had Bruce Willis.

what matters most, IMO, is a story's execution.

I got a response back from an alternate timeline. Where they didnt alter JGLs face.

Its nothing but complaining they hired two actors that look nothing alike.

You are almost certainly thinking of The Kid.

Looper isn't a particularly well written movie, but it does show that when Rian Johnson doesn't have to follow any rules or can just blame every story fault on "time travel" he can make a relatively enjoyable movie.

This suggest that time travel has a specific set of rules and isnt some made up bullshit for every single film its ever been a plot device in.

You can have a time travel movie that follows rules and even obeys paradoxes. When a movie breaks its own rules and/or excuses an unrelated story fault as being the result of time travel, that is bad writing.

Bad writing is bad writing, time travel movie or not.

Bad writing is bad writing, time travel movie or not.

You picking a fight with things the movie explicitly tells you not to care about is not bad writing.

You can have a time travel movie that really doesnt care all that much about the rules of time travel because, one its a movie, and two time travel absolute fucking convoluted mess at the absolute best of times. This movie literally comes out and tells us that. You go fight parked cars and complain about their driving. In the meantime, Lets make a cool retro-futuristic action movie with some neat ideas. Who gives an absolute snit. Its a movie. We can bend and break whatever rules we want. Its fucking Mardi Gras!

Also the child actor was quite fantastic I thought.

I'd like to see it again. Predestination is great too.

I love Looper. It's got one of my favorite endings in any movie.

Jgl was in so much quality movies I miss him I want to see him in movies again.

This was a really enjoyable movie. I like that after this Emily blunt went on to be in edge of tomorrow, a movie that should have been way more successful

i keep reminding myself to watch this movie. might do it this weekend...

This - it did a good job of hiding the specific ending, I wasn't sure if everyone was going to get a happy ending or nobody was, and in the end mom and kid did Also one of the better time travel movies in regards to character development and and the plot NOT just being about Time Travel TM (ala Timecop)

Ehh.. I know the director said up front he wasn't trying to adhere to one set of rules. I feel the grandfather paradox is going to be present in any time travel movie that use multiple universes and still tries to change a timeline

But you go on and be bothered by it and let it prevent you from enjoying a great film. Im sure thats a good choice for you.

Looper is awesome. when i saw the trailer i thought it looked pretty dumb and corny but i ended up really liking it.
