Which one of these three games are your favorite?

Oddly enough Morrowind is my favorite despite having by far the smallest amount of time put into it of the three. I like the fact that nothing levels with you so you can walk into death traps if you travel too far, as well as the lack of hand holding.

Oblivion has the best quests. So many of the skyrim quests lacked heart. Morrowind was the most fun to explore.

I went from the pinnacle of swordplay in Sekiro Shadows die twice to Elder scrolls, it was jarring to say the least lol

Oblivion, just because I came in late to the game and it had plenty of updates and I had just built a new PC.

Skyrim has been just as fun but the nostalgia of Oblivion wins.

I loved Morrowind and I spent a shit ton of time on it. I figured out how to break it and literally had a physical notebook where I would write out levelling strategies and as a result, my character was more than godlike.

I never played Oblivion.

I liked Skyrim but I was not able to break the game like I did with Morrowind... but then I figured out a few things and suddenly it all fell into place. I think I now have finally spent more time on Skyrim and I don't think I could ever go back. My current character is not game-breakingly OP right now, but that's because I'm lazy. I know how to do it. I just haven't felt like dedicating the necessary time block to it yet. I have before, but that was pre-Anniversary. I'm holding off on doing it again until I'm ready lol

Skyrim is the best to play, Oblivion has the best content, Morrowind did not age well and was only good at the time that it came out. Compared to the other two, it's trash.

Idk. They're all really fun. I have the most hours in Skyrim so I voted that.

I'm just afraid TES6 will disappoint after all this time.

Morrowind just has that special something that sucks you into the game. It makes you feel like you're in a real world. I still remember my early days of first playing it and I felt absolutely overwhelmed (in a good way) and awed at the sheer scope of it. No other ES game made me feel like that. While Oblivion has better quests and Skyrim has better overall gameplay, MW has that unique feel to it. I've had fun with the other two, but Morrowind is special and can't be replicated.

I generally want a mashup of the spell freedom from Morrowind, the questline detail of Oblivion, and the world detail of Skyrim. Hopefully TES6: Redguard Part Deux delivers on that when it releases in 2032.

Morrowind would be the best if it was completely remade with better combat and radiant ai though. The world seems amazing but it's just too dated.

I haven't played Morrowind other than a couple minutes dicking around in Seyda Neen on my cousin's Xbox copy a very long time ago. I plan on playing it properly one day.

I definitely prefer Oblivion over Skyrim though.

Never got that far in Morrowind, but I wish I did. Just wasn't feeling the combat back on...360? Oblivion was a bit better, but had some of its own issues, too. I liked the quests there more than the ones in Skyrim, but now that it's been ported 900 kajillion times, it's just easier to play that when you need an ES fix. (Well, besides ESO, which I play, despite its mediocre writing and MTX crap.)

I had the best time with Oblivion. That was the first game I ever really lost myself in. It was an absolute wonder at release. Morrowind blew me away as well though. I'd never seen an open world like that. I can just... do what I want? There aren't story sections gating my progress?

But in terms of which I'd rather play today, it's Skyrim, for the levelling system alone. The levelling systems in Oblivion and Morrowind are horrid. The way your character is permanently missing out on skill points unless you play and level in a very specific way is actively unfun. 99% of my Morrowind and Oblivion playthroughs were just cranking the difficulty down and ignoring most of the stats. Even levelling optimally, come to think of it, the combat in Oblivion was super tanky and unfun.

I love all three. I play them all unmodded (tried mods, don't really care for them), and maybe with mods to fix the levelling systems Morrowind or Oblivion would be easy winners. But as it stands eeeh. I struggle to choose between Oblivion and Skyrim. Oblivion.

Oblivion should be the best but the awkward levelled loot system that leaves bandits with ridic gear and poor late game balance kills it. If you mod it to fix this stuff then I think it is comfortably the best of the three.

Morrowind is v good but quite dated now.

Skyrim I think just doesn't fit in with the other two. It's an action game and it's good fun if you treat is a mindless action game but it doesn't have anywhere near the depth or immersion of the other two.

It's probably partially nostalgia, but Morrowind. I had heard absolutely nothing about the game and it was constantly full of surprises. The world is incredibly bizarre but still somewhat believable. Oblivion and Skyrim's more generic settings felt like a big step backwards. In Morrowind, you would end up super overpowered even if you didn't understand the leveling system. In Oblivion, you could metagame and minmax and you still basically got out-leveled because of the scaling. I only played Skyrim at release, none of the expansions. It was ok. Quests weren't as good, stats were too streamlined. Combat was certainly an improvement, but it still kinda mediocre. And come on, no horseback combat at launch? Oblivion should have had that.

The horses in general were a lot worse in Skyrim I think. In Oblivion they had third and first person views, and felt like they had a lot more weight and momentum. Skyrim had no first person view, and they moved and turned stupidly quickly.

The trick was to get the Boots of Blinding Speed and use a magic resist item to prevent the blindness.

Morrowind was incredible when it first came out, I'd never seen a game come anywhere close to that in terms of freedom and places to explore and things to do, but I don't think I could play it now. Each game has its strengths and weaknesses but I think overall Skyrim got the most things right and I'll vote for that.

Morrowind is the best, Oblivion is my favourite, and Skyrim is the one I've put the most hours into.

As for why Oblivion is my favourite, I dunno, the world spoke to me the most. I liked that the main quest was very apparent, but also very easy to roleplay reasons to avoid it. The weapons looked great.

It's been a long time since I've played, but I think if you can't find equipment with 100% resist you can make a spell for 1 second resist, cast it, put on the boots and you're good

My most recent playthrough in Morrowind was as an Orc and Orcs have 25% magic resistance as a racial trait, and even at 75% blindness you can easily see clearly enough to be able to travel no problem.

So the trick is to just play as an Orc, always.
