There's no legitimate reason for abortion to not be legal either. All comes down to religion

I mentioned in the other topic that reading the opinion, it seems to mention specifically that the ruling has no barring on Obergefell and Lawrence. On Page 62, and also in the first mention around page 27.

So Im really fucking hoping they dont, as the reasoning is that the opinion is exclusive to abortion itself since it concerns life.

But idk, cant say Im optimistic that they wont try.

Also, the 9th amendment means that a court decision can never make a phony right.

Absolutely they will. Do you think they'll stop there? Absolutely not. They'll go after Obergefell, Voting Rights Act, Fair Housing Act, Civil Rights Act of 1964, Brown v. Board, we already had a sitting US Senator musing over the repeal of Loving v. Virginia.

Everything is on the table with these cretins, it's not hyperbole to say that. It's not like it's the first time this has happened, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 wasn't the first one, the Supreme Court pulled the rug out from the first Civil Rights Act of 1866 ushering in a century of Jim Crow. The rights of minorities, women, and LGBTQ in this country have always been tenuous.

Republicans have been gunning for this for 50 years, this is their first hit, they'll get addicted.

There are though. An abortion results in a dead embryo or fetus and some folks could object to that for non-religious reasons.

Personally, I think it should be kept legal nationally, but without a hard viability timeframe. Rather have federally guaranteed abortions be based on whatever medical science is currently capable of having survive reliably. This would create an incentive for the anti-abortion states to advance medical technology until we get to the point where we can basically just transfer embryos into artificial wombs and render abortion mostly irrelevant.

Any horrible thing you think Republicans might do, they'll do.
