Source? Most I've seen is Texas which aims to go after doctors and other people who facilitate abortiosn. Nearly all the proposals I've seen explicitly do not target the women, as they are in a desparate situation to begin with.

But even if it does get stricken down, blue states will still allow it and red state will continue to ban it. Nothing really changes, except maybe dems get mobilized for the midterms, which would be nice.

the democratic governor has no power because the legislature stripped the governor of much of his powers in a lame duck session before Scott walker left office

anyway we have an anti abortion law on the books that just hasnt been enforced since Roe V Wade, and the people are powerless to do anything about it because we have minority rule

Morally I want to disagree with that.

But I also fear if we've crossed the point of no return. When a terminal patient gets bad enough that the doctor suggests taking them off life support and letting the inevitable happen... have we reached that point?

Yep, and good portion of laws criminalizing sodomy are still on the books. This opinion is specifically crafted to encourage Republicans to pass laws to challenge these rulings and get them overturned as well.

It should also be noted that a good amount of the anti-abortion laws being passed make no exceptions for rape, incest, and in a chunk of them the health and life of the mother.

It should also be mentioned that this will have no effect on anyone but poor people. Rich/powerful people, as always, will still be able get their mistresses or daughters abortions when they need them.
