I guess if you're forced to choose something to cut, it does make sense to go for them. I'm always just surprised at how (for lack of a better word) vindictive some people seem against the Echoes.

Well, people complain about Echoes taking up a slot that could go to someone else, but in this scenario, you're not replacing the character with someone else. They're just being removed. I'd just get rid of someone I never use or don't like playing against.

Yeah, I have nothing against them, usually defend them. In this particular question it just seems most logical to me. But if I was asked to cut 6 echos or 1 unique character (for an example I'm pretty sure this was a choice they made back when they made Melee), I'd probably cut the unique one.
