it was so memorable to rean he made it part of his teaching curriculum

I rolled my eyes at that to, but Cold Steel 3 really is the best one. Don't be discouraged!

CS3 is just a massive tease for CS4. It was kinda like a rehashed CS1 so to me is the worst of the 4 games.

The massive tease is the rate at which the series is localized :(

What a bizarre take. CS3 is way better than CS4.

CS4 is fine but it just feels like a bit if a clusterfuck of characters. Doesn't have it's own thing going on. It's better than 1 by virtue of mechanics but I still enjoyed playing 1 more.

3 is definitely the the best one.

2 is definitely the worst one.

3 >2 >4 >1

1 is just too slow for me

3 > 4 > 1 > 2

4 would have been the best if it didn't have just absolute crap tons of padding in the middle.

That was the best part though.

CS2's ending is just interminable and basically ruined any good will the rest of the game accumulated

The epilogue in CS2 is just a Lloyd>Rean confirmation arc.

I'm really not sure what you mean here, it's pretty obvious why that happened and is very consistent with Rean's character up to that point.

It's not a feel good moment for sure, but it's not really meant to be. He just knew that doing what he did at the time would make sure the least amount of people got hurt, which gets discussed and expanded upon during CS3.

If anything I'd say CS2's treatment of Rean as a character is one of the few strengths it has.

I didn't even recognize Agate and Tita at first. They look so weird in 3D!

Shirley is great but I dont know about that

I know CS3 has new characters, but part of that disappoints me to a degree because I used Fie as much as possible in the first two games. I mean there are pluses to new characters too like not having to deal with Alisa or listen to Machias complain for the 12 billionth time too, but I guess Ill see how I feel about the new characters when the next Trails game/s comes out and I can properly advance to CS3 after.

The fishing is kinda meh though. You go to a new location you fish once to get the new fish and then you move on. Only a few of them are actually worth catching more than once.

Yeah CS3's fishing is a huge improvement over 1/2.

video game fishing is always fun in all its forms

I appreciate that characters other than Rean can fish now, but I'm fine with how Trails originally did fishing.
