2. A few right-wingers posted tweets (which got a few thousand likes at most) equating some of the recommendations of an LGBT+ youth hotline with grooming, but not suggesting the death penalty for the people who run said hotline.

Those are exactly that - examples. And examples of that nature are becoming more and more frequent from the political right.
