I have an overactive thyroid which is raising my metabolism, but giving me heart palpitations and trembling arms. So, I need a thyroidectomy

Nice. For me, breaking 200 was a huge milestone (I was like 230), but I went down to 180. Then 160. Then 140. Now Im probably 150 again, but I always celebrate any weight loss increment of 20lbs.

yeah that'll do it, works usually a lifestyle change. the busier you are the less you eat and the less hungry you tend to get. i find when i'm underactive or using my brain more, i get hungrier way faster and want to snack all the time. However when i'm rapid firing shit i don't even feel like eating and I can make it through the day on like a cookie from the vending machine

  1. even if you like to eat remain active
  2. working a labor heavy job will shed those pounds while you get paid for it definitely a motivator if you can handle the workload
  3. try not to think about it too much otherwise you'll get impatient and get depressed, or angry and use that as an excuse to either give up or start binge or stress eating
that's how I lost 30 pounds from November to now. I'd probably lose more if I weren't so addicted to door dash. I really gotta stop

You have to find something to motivate you. For some people that's losing weight with a friend/family member and keeping each other accountable. Or it could be just reaching a point where you feel like you have to make a change.

Or it could be health concerns. For one of my co-workers, the doctor told him that if he didn't lose weight, he likely wouldn't live long enough to see his 6 year old son reach adulthood. That was the kick he needed to really focus on losing weight. He's dropped a ton of weight now.
