Sophie is in the running for worst game of the series fwiw. Very bland cast overall (Sophie herself is okay but the rest are unmemorable at best), a weird battle system with obvious 'first game syndrome', also a weird alchemy system, and a pretty bad plot. The rest of the Mysterious Trilogy isn't much better. No idea if Sophie 2 is any good myself because I haven't played it and probably won't for a very long time if ever. For anyone looking to try the Atelier series I'd absolutely not recommend Sophie as the first game you play in it.
