Because what a meter is is technically arbitary, we just selected 1 milllion meters as the distance between the Earth's north and south pole (Probably not, that's just the anecdote I remember)

Measurements aren't some objective thing, they're an agreed upon standard.

Metric is completely arbitrary. It was supposed to be based on the distance from the north pole to the equator, but they ended up making the wrong calculation. Ironically enough, the United States came in and standardized the metric system and sent a set of weights and measures to each country that was using them. Without these standards, the system really doesn't exist.

Standard measurements are usually based upon general every-day sizes. A "Foot" for example, is usually about the size of and adult male's foot.

it does now. those standards are no longer what each measurement is based on because its silly to base each measurement on an object that can be lost, destroyed, or fluctuate through wear and tear.

there is an agreed objective scientific definition now for each metric unit that will never change or fluctuate (a meter for example is defined as the length of a path travelled by light in a vacuum in 1/229792458 of a second (yes i absolutely googled that)).

God defined the length of a cubit. Why would you ever doubt god?
