You could like videos.

To be fair I watch through facebook and it's not obvious on there (They call it Reelz?).

Anyway, I feel so bad for not liking so many good videos. In addition, it turns out it kinda tracks the videos you like and gives you more of the same type.

I rarely see BTS videos anymore or weight lifting ones.....I used to just quickly right click past em (sorry Jen) but now they don't even show up!! Now I get way more cat vids, family vids, comedy vids etc. So much more streamlined.

The only thing I don't know is if it'll save over once I log off tonight lol. Will I have to re-train it all over again tomorrow?

Guess I will find out!!

Doesn't show up as a big heart on facebook, it's just a thumbs up button and it's on the bottom right (not where the video is your watching) so I didn't notice it forever.

There is a comment window as well (little bubble you could click) but it doesn't work through facebook (you have to log into tik tok to comment or see them). I could watch through Tik Tok I guess but I tried once and it had you scroll down to see new videos. I didn't like that format, I much prefer the click right or left method of facebook (especially if they have a gross video I don't want to see etc, don't have to scroll past it and just instantly click right).

Why bother with attention seeking platforms like TikTok anyway?

So yeah, I spent alot of yesterday watching tik tok and it's pretty bad, I don't get why anyone watches it.

Reels on the other hand has tons of family stories, people telling jokes, clips from family feud, fun dances, cats etc. Even before the like option appeared (another option eventually appeared as well so I think I didn't miss it for a week, it just didn't show up yet) I was able to consistently see videos that made me laugh, cry, think, smile etc.

You have to be careful of liking things though as it REALLY focusing on anything you like. There is this one family where the mom adopted a daughter (who was not biologically hers) and I liked their story and now I see them all the freaking time (great story, but I mean, I already heard about it). I guess as I like OTHER videos it'll probably even out a bit, but I also get like nonstop rollercoaster videos because I liked a harry potter bike ride (that was actually the first one I liked and then bam, tons of rollercoaster videos.

Anyway, I still like reels, but I had tried tik tok ages ago and didn't like it, and I still don't.

Difference is most of the videos are the ones mentioned, while tik tok has workout crap and bollywood crap and BTL (or whatever that korean band is) etc.

Also Tik Tok takes time to load, even if you double click on the video to make them big and get the left right buttons like you have on reels, it often takes a few seconds at least to load the next video.

Reels is instant, no wait ever.

So the reels experience is right clicking through a few videos and getting something interesting within a few seconds. The Tik Tok experience is right clicking (or scrolling down) through a freakton of videos often that need to load, and taking at least a minute to see something interesting.

Reels 4 stars for me out of 5 and might get better with time.

Tik Tok = 1 star out of 5 and I don't care if it gets better with time cause I'm not gonna invest it.
