All this hype surrounding it and the second movie is crazy. I like sonic okay enough, but just like with detective pikachu that terrifying 3d hairy "photo-realistic" look of the cartoon characters was way too horrifying for me to imagine them being enjoyable enough to watch. professional reviewers took issue with the lack of focus on the Hoomans while game fans took issues with the humans the wedding scene and the dance scene were way too long for them while for normies they didn't go on long enough. Those are the complaints I see the most. A few others are Tails's game VA sucking compared to professionals like Ben and Idria which I don't get and there are a few people who are upset at Tails's character is nearly one for one with his game self. --- A worthless existence ... I actually liked 2 more than 1. Tails and Knuckles were done really well and robotnik was even more Robotnik-like in that one. It was somewhat more faithful to the games, while at the same time expanding the Sonic movie-verse mythology with Longclaw, Knuckle's tribe, and the other worlds. --- Congratulations! Was pleasantly surprised by the first for the standards of a kids movie, Whenever I see a hollywood adaptation of a children's property I tend to expect things in line with 2002 scooby-doo. However, I think 2 was a bad movie in comparison to the first. --- move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. Have sheep troopers squadrons A and B flank the cows. I would say at least a majority of one's work should be in VA to be considered a professional. Of course that's not to say that regular actors can't be good VAs. Looking at his Wikipedia page, I didn't realize Ben had so many VA roles. I'd feel comfortable calling him a pro even though a majority of his work is live action. --- Remember...remember us. Meanwhile, you have actors like George Lopez who throw in their voice to many animated movies, but in all those movies the characters just sound like George Lopez. Did he provide his voice for animated characters? Yes, but I wouldn't consider him a professional VA actor. Just an actor doing VA work. Both of the movies are good. Keep in mind, they're still aimed for children and so the plots can be kinda wacky and the jokes pretty stupid, but I still appreciate how faithful they're being to the source material. The worst part of the movies is when they focus on the human characters, but it seems they're learning their lesson with that and pushing them further away from the main story with each movie. So I'm crossing my fingers they won't have much screen time in the 3rd one at all.
