I haven't played nearly as much of 2 and 3 as I did the original but I kind of can't help but marvel at the raw passion of this dude and his increasingly amazing art/music team just continuously refining this experience way beyond what I ever thought it could be.

Same, I was addicted to the first for a few months, touched 2 a little but never played 3. Glad he's still doing it though, reading through his old developer blogs when he was struggling before hitting it big with CSD was really nice.

i know people in real life that love this series. my own brain has never been able to wrap itself around it!

why would i want to re-experience working at a fast food place or restaurant and fulfilling orders under time pressure? that's work, not fun!

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Never heard of this series, but it looks like a time management game? I really enjoyed Primrose Lake which is another game from the genre so maybe I'll look into this?

As I recall, it has a pretty heavy focus on reflexes and performing fast actions on a keyboard. A little too stressful for my tastes. I'll play Cooking Mama if I want a cooking game.

I haven't played CSD since the first one, but yeah each food product was basically its own minigame involving memorization and reflexes. I enjoy that kind of game because I start out struggling to handle one recipe and by the end I'm blitzing through half a dozen no problem
