Rules:

  • You have 30 days to practice.
  • You must beat BattleToads (NES) with @Shotgunnova as your partner.
  • Your final run has to be live and in front of a gaming referee.
  • You must play on original NES hardware with no cheating devices. You may not use any codes. The Ref will supply the hardware and gaming cartridge.
  • This will take place in Shotgunnovas home town. You must pay your travel expenses and lodging. You will not be reimbursed.
  • If BattleToads is completed then you both win $100,000.
*While not a rule, word is that if you cost Shotgunnova 100k then youre done on GameFAQs, forever.

Is it? Youre not going to get the full 30 days unless Shotgunnova is going to let you crash on his couch or youre paying for a hotel room for 30 days.

The farthest I've ever gotten legit in Battletoads is the third level, haha. The one with motorbikes (?) and lava stuff to jump over. I partially blame never having a proper working NES to practice on, though. All three of those I had back in the day were pretty wonky.

Snake Pit was always my demise. I eventually got the hang of the TT and could do it pretty consistently, but fuck that Snake Pit.

This. Snake Pit was AWFUL. And in the mid 90's I had no idea about the warp in that level so I had to try and beat it legit.
