You can't level up until you beat the first level so you can't grind anything and you end up running out of consumables...it's TOUGH.

I haven't even made it to the boss yet...stupid traps.

ANY TIPS

The castle.

Consumables is one thing you can actually grind before fighting the boss. But if you're not adjusted yet, you can use just as many as you get. So, it might still be a struggle until you get momentum. That learning curve is real, so it's really mostly up to you to fight past it.

Is it true that in Demon Souls if you die in an area, that area becomes harder? Seems like an incredibly cruel mechanic if so

I never felt like it was a strong factor when I played. And the first time I definitely wasn't amazing. I died a lot. Losing half max health was the real bitch

It's a minor percentage based increase in damage and hp I think.

It's basically a nothingburger. The cut in health in soul form is a thousandfold more meaningful as to the difficulty.

Just run past everything, open some shortcuts, get to the bridge, lure the dragon and then run to the lever that opens the gate to the boss

Find the ring that increases your HP when in Soul Form in the tower past the Blue Eye Knight, big help.

I'm liking the game but combat is far more limited as well. It's still pretty fun tho.
